Each home is assigned a value in GuestPoints that is calculated automatically by our system based on the location, the number of beds and the equipment. And as you are part of HomeExchange Collection, 50% more GuestPoints are added to the recommended value of your home.
You can modify the GuestPoints per night attributed to your home. This amount is changeable by up to 30 GP more than the amount recommended by HomeExchange. That being said, we recommend that you do not modify the automatic value of GuestPoints per night of your home in order to efficiently attract guests and finalize your exchanges with ease.
To add the 30 GP to your home, click on "My home" from the drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and then use the slider seen below to adjust the existing number of GuestPoints per night of your home.
The best way to earn GuestPoints is by hosting fellow members. They will give you the GuestPoints value of your home per night in exchange for your hospitality.
You also get a bonus of 1050 GP when you sign up for HomeExchange Collection that can help you to finalize your first exchange.
For reciprocal exchanges, you can choose whether you want to exchange GuestPoints or not!
By default, our system will take into account GuestPoints for reciprocal exchanges and calculate the difference of GuestPoints between the two homes. For example, if your home is valued 300 GP and your partner's home 250 GP, you will earn 50 GP for this exchange.
If you do not want to use GuestPoints for your reciprocal exchange, you simply need to modify the GuestPoints value of both stays and put it to 0 GP.
For non-reciprocal exchanges (when only one member travels to their exchange partner's home), you can view how many GuestPoints you will receive (if you are the host) or how many you will give (if you are the guest) in the exchange details. The GuestPoints are automatically calculated given the GuestPoints per night of the home and transfer is done automatically when the exchange is finalized.
If you host cancels, the GuestPoints will automatically be returned to your account.
Note that our team will contact you after a cancellation by your host, but if you need urgent help regarding the cancellation of your exchange, you can contact us (link email soscollection@homeexchange.com).
If you guest cancels, as a host, you will have the option in your conversation to either keep or return your GuestPoints.
You can buy GuestPoints while you are finalizing an exchange for which you do not have enough GuestPoints.
The amount of GuestPoints you need will be automatically calculated, and you will be able to pay for it while finalizing the exchange. This is how much they will cost:
- First, GuestPoints are offered at 0,10€/GP up to a limit of 20% of the total number of GuestPoints needed for the exchange.
- Then, if supplementary GuestPoints are required, they will cost 1€/GP.
Also note that GuestPoints do not expire, therefore as long as you do not delete your account on HomeExchange Collection, you will keep your GuestPoints and be able to use them.
