Vad du kommer att gilla med hemmet
***Primarily looking for 20 to 90 day periods, anytime between May and July 2025 in Southern California, Arizona, Hawai***
Our home is a beautifully renovated and spacious original Victorian House in the heart of an english town with a great station link that connects you to the heart London easily. You will have clean and spacious rooms; a calming eden in the middle of a town!
Downstairs is open plan with american kitchen overlooking the garden, with oven, gas hob, 1 fridge-freezer and another small fridge, Vitamix blender, air fryer, juicer, nespresso machine, kettle and toaster. The separate lounge facing the front of the house is also spacious (~36m2), with TV, sofas , and a music corner with piano, guitar and even a electric drum kit! There is a toilet downstairs and an uility room next to the kitchen with the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The upstairs boasts 3 double bedrooms (1 king bed, 1 double bed, small double sofa bed) and a triple room in the converted loft (1 king, 1 single bed). There are 3 bathrooms upstairs (1 bath, 3 showers, all with toilet).
You will have storage for your personal belongings in every room.
The house has all the amenities you need for family, traveling couples, or group of friends wanting to explore, relax and enjoy the diversity of what the area has to offer.
There will be cleaning charge at the end of your stay unless you decide you would like to do it yourself. You can have the cleaner coming regularly for £60/week.
Our garden is mature and lush, relaxing, with a fire bowl and a chiminea patio heater for your use., as well as a barbecue. At the end of the garden there is a trampoline, a basketball/netball net and a table tennis table available. A gardener comes and look after it all when needed (at no cost for you)
The house front garden has 2 free parking spaces and you can have our nearly-new hybrid car available for use. You can also use our bikes (there are 4: 3 adult size and a smaller one (teenager))
You'll have 2 friendly cats in the house who love a cuddle and at the same time are quite independant.
The house is just 15mn train journey - 30mn by car - to the seaside (Brighton) and 45 mn from the heart of London by train (Victoria and London Bridge Stations). The station is 15mn walk from the house.

We live in the town center and at the same time in a quiet residential area. Our neighbors are lovely. The neighborhood is safe and all the shops (cafes, grocers, restaurants, organic heath store, clothes, homeware, hairdressers, etc) are a very short walking distance (5mn). There is also a little wood down the road (Ashenground wood) for little walks and Victoria park for a stroll, kids playground and tennis courts that you can easily book online.
The town center also has a 24h Gym (Pure Gym) and two yoga centers (all just 5mn walk).
The town has a leisure centre (20mn walk) with another gym, a pool, café, massage, racket games etc. The nearby town of Burgess Hill has an even greater fun pool for kids with games and slides, indoor climbing, racket sports courts and café (10mn drive).
The area also has fantastic gastropubs located in the countryside (e.g. The Cat Inn') and Michelin Star restaurants (e.g. Gravetye Manor)
The surrounding countryside is dominated by the gentle hills of the South Downs National Park and the county of Sussex where the house sits is a world renowned destination for tourists with the cities of London, Brighton, Eastbourne and Chichester easily accessible.
Near the house and a bit further away, besides the cities of London and Brighton, there are several world renowned landmarks:
- The South Downs National park (10mn drive) for hikes, cycling, horseriding and the stunning Seven Sisters (50mn drive)
- Gardens and mansions (Wakehurst, Sheffield parks, Nymans)
- Quintessential british villages, minutes away (Lindfield (UK top 10 best place to live in 2023), Lewes, Ditchling, Cuckfield, Ardingly)
- Spas (Ockenden Manor, South Lodge, Alexander House, Wowo wild spa)
- Golf courses (including driving range for kids, e.g. Cuckfield - 10mn drive)
- Sussex wine tours (e.g. Bolney 15mn drive)
- Famous artists residence (Charleston farmhouse - the Bloomsbury group - 1h drive)
- Famous events (Goodwood festival, Brighton festival and summer concerts, Glyndebourne opera, Hickstead)
- The Bluebell railway and Sheffield Park and Forest (10mn drive)
- Ashdown forest ('Winnie the pooh' locations 25mn drive)
- Brighton football club and stadium (30mn drive)
- Brighton lively beaches (20mn by train, a close quiet beach would be Salt Dean which also has a Lido/outdoor pool - 35mn drive)

The city of Brighton has loads of independant shops (e.g. in the Lanes), organic restaurants, seaside cafes, museums, amusement parks and pebble beaches. Many artists reside in Brighton, the capital of inclusion and diversity!
Lewes is also a must-see with its breath-taking location, brewery, alternative shops and eco-friendly vibe.
The international Airport of Gatwick is a direct 10-20mn train journey from our Station.
A direct train can also take you to St Pancras in London (1h), from where you can head directly to Paris via the Eurostar (2h15).

Övrigt
We have 2 cats who are relatively independant - if you need to leave the house for up to 3-4 days, it is OK as they have an automatic feeder, cat flap and water dispenser! For longer periods, some of our lovely neighbours come and visit them so they won't be in your way in any shape or form if you want to explore further afield from our house.
