Vad du kommer att gilla med hemmet
Our family house is a spacious, luminous 'home away from home'. The high ceilings and big windows welcome you with a lot of light, making it an oasis in the middle of your travels.
The downstairs is one big living area. There's a sitting corner with tv/stereo, a working zone with iMac and printer, a dining table for 8 adults, a large kitchen and high kitchen table. All necessary household, kitchen and cooking equipment or gadgets are there, and we have a lot of baby/toddler accessories.
Behind the living space is the small bathroom (shower + sink), where you'll find a washing machine and tumbler dryer. There you'll also find a toilet. Behind the veranda, there is a terrace that leads to the garden (south, under construction), a sunny place full of berries and fruits.
Let's go upstairs! Above the kitchen is the main bathroom (bathtub, shower and toilet). Above the living room, there are 3 floors. The 1st and 2nd floor each have 2 bedrooms (with double and/or single beds). There is also a sports, game and toy room on the 2nd floor. Underneath the roof (on the 3rd floor), there is a 5th bedroom, accessible by narrow stairway. There's an optional extra bed/baby bed available (on demand).
The house has been fully renovated, and has solar energy (electricity, air-conditioning and a heat pump boiler) combined with central heating (on gas). Some authentic details are left in their original state, to preserve the character of the house. Other details are still being upgraded, so the house is a never ending piece of art and life.
All necessary machines, accessories, household items are present and quality materials, but feel free to double-check.
Parking is limited to 4 hours per day in the direct area, but in the back, there is a driveway and street area that is reserved for 2 cars, where there are no restrictions. The city center of Bruges is paid parking only, but it's a 15 to 20-minute walk to the Market Square. There are bus stops within 200 meter of the house, and plenty of taxi's (no Uber) with meters.
Travelling to/from the house is easy: take bus number 1 (4€ p.p.)and get off at the church of Sint-Kruis, and walk back 200 meters. Take a look at all the shops and restaurants next to the church. The small supermarket is just behind the roundabout (Carrefour). By taxi, it's a 15 euro ride from the train station.
There are a lot of shops and restaurants on walking distance, and the larger supermarkets (6 different major ones) are a 1 or 2 km away. To go out, there are too many options within the city center, but I have a long list of different bars, restaurants and places to visit at the house.
Bruges is the number 1 tourist hotspot of Belgium, located at 2 or 3 hours from Amsterdam, Paris, London and Germany. The sea is only 20 km away, Holland is a bicycle ride from the house, and you can even cycle to France and back in one day!
In short: our house is an ideal central place to travel to and from, to relax and to feel at home! :)

Our house is located just outside the historical center of Bruges, and can be your ideal spot to travel from and to. There is plenty of free parking space, and there are 2 private parking spots where there's limitless parking available (and a Tesla charger, by request).
When you leave the house, there are plenty of shops at 200 meter to your right (bakeries, butcher, supermarket, etc.) and some excellent restaurants (Italian, French, Japanese, snacks etc.). The community of Sint Kruis (Saint-Cross/Santa Cruz) is like a little village inbedded in the Bruges uptown residential area.
You'll feel at home right away!
