An architect renovated house arranged over four floors this is a fabulous modern maison de village situated right at the heart of the historic centre of Céret near the ramparts. The house has innovative features and a fully fitted modern island kitchen. The top floor offers a cosy lounge with a great view off to the side of the church tower from the sliding full size window and glass doors lead to a small but attractive courtyard style terrace equipped with a little BBQ and an outdoor glass 'table' that tops a light-well that illuminates the kitchen below. There is a wood burning fireplace. The property has 2 en suite bedrooms (the bathrooms are however, very compact) situated on the ground floor and first floor . The bedrooms are surprisingly cool in summer and have overhead fans. The lower bedroom has twin beds that can be zipped together to make a king size bed.
There is air conditioning and fans in the sitting room and a misting fan in the kitchen.
Located mid way between the bars and restaurants of place de Pablo Picasso and place des Neuf Jets, you are but fifty paces from each and in contrast this quaint cobbled street offers privacy and tranquillity
This bijou little property has been decorated to a high standard and is very well equipped. In the most prime of locations in this beautiful little town it is perfect for a romantic break or for 2 couples/families of up to four. Please note there is an 80 Euro cleaning and laundry fee that is part of what we get charged by our management team and we do pass this on to our home exchange guests to pay direct to the management company.

Ceret is in a fantastic region for outdoor activities - 40 minutes from the Med (beautiful Collioure), it also offers great hiking, cycling and canoeing. There are endless places to explore from rustic villages to mountains, beaches, lakes and wineries - it's only a 15 min drive to Spain (Cadaques, the Dali museum etc) and 1.5 hrs from ski-ing in winter. Close to the famous spa of Amelies le Bains. The drive along the tech river is spectacular. Ceret is also famous for its museum of modern art, it's many art galleries, festivals and wonderful cuisine. Despite all this, Ceret remains relatively undiscovered; popular with art lovers and outdoorsy types rather than mass tourist groups. Weekly markets abound in the region, but Ceret's Saturday market is the most famous.

- Retail therapy: Lots of small interesting shops in the historic centre. Small supermarkets close by. Larger ones a couple of minutes drive or a 15 minute walk.
- Bit of culture: Ceret is a town full of culture. There are many art galleries. The Museum of Modern Art is famous and a minutes walk from the house. Pablo Picasso and many other famous artists lived in Ceret at different times. There are also many many street festivals especially over the summer. The weekly market is famous in the region.
- Walks in the park: There is wonderful hiking in the Pyrenees that starts just a minute from the house. The neighbouring town of St Jean Pla de Corts has a delightful lake with grassy surrounds perfect for swimming, boating, walking and picnics.
- Spot of exercise: Hiking, bicycling, there are communal tennis courts and swimming pool close by. There is also the lake at St Jean Pla de Corts.
- Day tripping: Collioure is a beautiful medieval fishing village on the Med just half an hours drive away. Great seafood restaurants abound. Take a drive up the Spectacular Tech Valley. The Little Yellow Train from Villefranche is justly famous. Perpignan is a lively town just half an hour away with great restaurants and shops. Amelie les Bains is a well known healing centre with Roman Baths. Take a trip into Spain to Gerona, Barcelona (2 hrs) or nearby Figueres to see the fabulous Salvador Dali Museum.
