Vad du kommer att gilla med hemmet
Our wonderful house was built in 1934 and still contains a lot of period elements like stained glass windows and ornamented ceilings.It overlooks the river oude Rijn, a busy waterway. The town of Alphen aan den Rijn lies right in between all the mayor dutch cities and makes for a perfect base to explore these.
Ground floor: Hall with stained glass windows,corridor with original marble floor. Sunny living room with a fireplace and doors opening to the backyard.The living room also has a piano and tv/dvd. Toilet. Kitchen with stove,oven,microwave, dishwasher and a very good italian espresso machine.
First floor: Bathroom with bath,shower,toilet and double wash basin. Parents bedroom with balcony (double bed 160 cm), study, spare room with comfortable sleeping couch that makes a bed of 140cm x 190cm.
Second floor:two bedrooms. one with a single bed and the other one with a double bed, Both rooms have air conditioning. One of the rooms hold some gym equipment. Washing area with washing machine and dryer.The total of the house is 160 m2.
We have fast wi-fi internet.
The house is surrounded by a garden which always give you a place to sit either in the sun or the shade. The back garden is very private and we have a big Weber BBQ. The front garden is a great place to sit with a drink and watch the boats go by.

Although our town is in an urban area our house has a rural feel to it. It is situated on a beautiful and quiet street with period houses ranging from 1880 to 1934. Our house overlooks the river oude rijn where all year round it is very busy with all kinds of boats.
Alphen aan den Rijn lies in between all the mayor cities in Holland. Amsterdam is 30 minutes by car,the Hague 25 min,Rotterdam 35 min,Gouda 25 min, Delft 30 min. and Leiden 20 minutes. It will be a perfect base to explore all those cities and more: In the months of spring visit the famous Keukenhof in Lisse (20 minutes away) and enjoy all the tulips you can imagine. Amsterdam airport is very close and there is a direct busline from the airport to our house.
The sandy beaches of Noordwijk and katwijk are 35 minutes away.
Some nice Belgian cities are not so far away either: Antwerp 1,5 hr, Brussels 2 hrs,Gent 2 hrs.
Or closer to home: take a bike and ride through the green hart of Holland, visit some of the nearby lakes like Brasemermeer or Nieuwkoopse plassen.
For the kids there are two main attractions close by: Avifauna, a zoo that specializes in all sorts of birds an also has a big playground (our kids always enjoyed going there) and Archeon, a prehistoric/ medieval theme parc. A couple of minutes by bike will get you to a shopping centre with supermarkets and others shops like a butcher,fishmonger, cheese-store etc. Alphen aan den Rijn has lots of nice restaurants and in summer a lot of cafes at the waterfront.
