o que você amará nesta casa
A big reason we love our home is the position. Not far from the city center (easy walk or by bike/bus), and, at the same time, in 5 minutes you're in the countryside (on foot, by bike or by car).
Plenty of buses to get to the main train station (or airport) and we can walk to the secondary train station - this makes it really easy to reach places like Venice, Padua, Bologna, Trento, Bolzano, Lake Garda, Milan, Bergamo or Mantua (all within an hour or a bit more).
There are many playgrounds in the neighborhood and a lot of paths leading to the countryside or along the old city walls. Verona is great by bike and we can lend you our bicycles and kid's seats.
We provide a long list of 'tips' to help discover some of the wonderful places to taste the best of Verona and the surrounding area of Valpolicella.
Verona, itself, is a UNESCO heritage site. Most famous for the Arena (Opera season in the summer) and Romeo & Juliet, but it also has a great many roman ruins (the most outside of Rome), great museums and even better food. The famous wine region of Valpolicella is next to the city and is essentially the foothills of the Alps. In fact, going 1 hr north you have Trento/Bolzano and the Dolimites, 1/2 - 1 hr west and you're at Lake Garda, Bergamo or Milan. 1 hr east and you're in Venice or the Adriatic sea. 1 hr south and you're in Modena, Mantua or Bologna. And with the new fast trains you can be in Florence in less than 2 hours or Rome in about 3. It's hard to find a location with better access to so much.

O que vai adorar na vizinhança
We live in what's called 'Borgo Venezia' - a neighborhood just east of the city center. Plenty of shops nearby for all your needs (including a big supermarket 1km away) and a farmer's market on Friday mornings a block away. An easy 5 minute drive to a shopping mall and the motorway (entrance/exit 'Verona Est'). For those wanting more of the city-life, it's an easy walk to the historic city center of Verona (pop. 250,000) with the Arena (great in Opera season in summer), Romeo and Juliet lore, the Adige river, Castle Vecchio and the Roman Theater.
A short drive up the valley (15min) and you'll find great rock climbing, hiking and sledding/snow-shoeing in the winter.
The largest lake in Italy (Lake Garda) is only 1/2 hr away by car, with thermal spas, roman ruins, Italy's largest amusement park (GardaLand) and the Alps surrounding the north end of the lake.
