From Little India to Little Italy, to passing through Greektown and Chinatown, you will never tire of Toronto's artistic treasures and architectural splendors. Come explore this surprising city for a weekend or your next vacation.
Our advice: The prime time to visit Toronto is from mid-April through late November. Do not miss our favorite and free (or really affordable) activities while you visit Toronto, starting with: the distillery district, St Laurence market, Riverdale Farm, a ferry ride to Toronto Island.
This breathtaking region of mountains and sea has so much to offer explorers wanting to perfect their kayaking skills, challenge their hiking partner or simply take in the beauty of ocean vistas and natural parks.
Our advice: Don't miss the incredible view from the Pointe-à-la-Renommée and to travel back in time in the Magasin Général Historique Authentique 1928, an authentic old general store from the 20th century!
If you are an ocean lover like many of our Members, Vancouver Island is another gem for you to discover. Most of the towns on the island feature the word "port" in their name, recalling the importance of fishing in the island's community. Vancouver Island is also known for its wonderful wine and food produced in the Cowichan Valley region.
Our advice: If you are looking for some physical activity, the village of Tofino is renowned for its surfing and has many surf schools to get you started. March-May or September-December are the best months to visit Vancouver Island.
If you can be flexible with your travel dates, we strongly advise you to travel off-season. Not only will you considerably save on transportation costs, but you will also have the privilege of experiencing Canada's gems without feeling rushed by the crowds. In every season, you will find something breathtaking and unique to see in Canada.

“Following a day full of exploring the beautiful city of Quebec, I enjoyed reading in the comfortable chair near the window and soak in the atmosphere of this incredible city. Our host Isabelle recommended visiting the spectacular historic site of Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, which was only 15 minutes away and absolutely wonderful to discover!"

"It was our first time visiting Western Canada and we loved it! We felt so lucky to have this wonderful home to go back to after our busy days discovering Vancouver to taste the wonderful local wine left by our hosts. Our favourite activities were the sailboat tour we took from Vancouver harbor, our day biking through Stanley park and of course the hockey game!"

Our home exchange in Banff was simply a delight. While discussing with our hosts, we discovered that we shared the same passion for biking and even had common friends. When we got to their lovely home, they had left a lot of local guides with all the nearby outdoorsy activities and a long list of yummy restaurants. I was skeptical at first about HomeExchange but after this first exchange, we feel that now we can travel without limits on a budget!
