Wat je fantastisch zult vinden in dit huis
Welcome to discover Finland, the happiest country in the world! To our home it’s less than 2-hour drive from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (or 25 min from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport). Our home is in a peaceful residential area of detached houses, right next to a ridge and forests, about 20 minutes from the city center of Tampere, in the town of Kangasala. NOTE: Our home is non-smoking area.
All cultural activities are easily accessible by the city bus or a car, which you may rent or borrow from me. Tampere and Kangasala locate in the Southern heart of Finland, and this area offers a great mix of urban culture, stunning nature, and unique experiences for visitors in all seasons. More about the attractions at the end of my home presentation, as there are so many of them worth mentioning (towers, lakes, parks, museums, spas, walking trails, boat trips, restaurants, sports). My pictures are from the house + yard and Kangasala & Tampere area.
Our home is a semi-detached house with a private yard surrounding it. The house is all on one floor, so there are no steps. We live on both sides of the house, as there are two separate apartments, connected with a storage room. For our quests we can offer a bigger or smaller apartment side, and these are the pictures of the bigger one, with one master bedroom, second bedroom / living room, main living room, kitchen, bathroom and sauna.
Inside our home there should be everything you need to rest and be comfortable. In the master bedroom there is a nice queen-size bed, and in the second bedroom/living room there is a small sofa-bed (for 1 or 2) and in the main living room there is a sleeper-sofa (for 1 or 2). One extra bed is also possible to arrange.
You will have TV, Wi-Fi, workspace, shower, bathtub, sauna (heated with wood), washing machine, dryer, heating and cooling, pure water from the tabs, and all the equipment for cooking, such as induction stove, oven, air fryer, microwave oven, toaster, a grill for sandwich or waffles, water boiler and a manual coffee maker. In the fridge you will have a lot of space for your groceries, and there is a large sink for the dishes, which you can wash by hand or use the dishwasher.
Although our family has no small children anymore, we still have some toys and lots of Legos to play with, and enough room to play. You can also use PS3, but our game controllers may be a bit old, so you might like to bring your own, if you like to play games.
The reason why I describe our home as a Garden Home is because there are quite many green plants all over the house (I haven’t counted how many) and the yard, and they will hopefully bring you some joy during your stay.
In the yard, you can listen to the fountain and birds in the summertime and enjoy the quietness of the snow during the midwinter months. Our yard is like a small garden, which I'm constantly developing whenever the ground isn't frozen. For example, we have an apple tree, a plum tree, peonies, lilacs, rhododendrons, roses, rowan trees, shrubs, strawberries, currants, and rhubarb. I also feed the birds during the winter with a bird-feeding place on my window, so you may still enjoy the birds' company, or the squirrel that also comes to eat the seeds. The home office table is just at the front of the feeding place window and during summertime you can see and hear the fountain from there, if you need to work.
Our wish is to collect some Guest points during the spring, summer and autumn months, and use them during the mid-winter for travelling closer to the equator, where the sun shines. If you don’t have enough Guest points, don’t hesitate to ask about the stay anyway, as we may work things out. If you would like to exchange your home somewhere by the Indian Ocean to our northern home, and come here on Christmas (bring a real Christmas tree at home, make some snow mans and bake ginger cookies) or New Year or other snowy wintertime, it would be perfect!

Here, you will feel safe and cozy. Our home is located in a peaceful residential area with detached houses. The grocery store is just around the corner, and many more shops are within 2-4 km distance. The closest Tampere city bus stop is about 150 m from the house, so you can easily take a bus to Tampere in 25 minutes.
Within walking distance, there are scenic outdoor trails in the forests and ridges. You can enjoy Kangasala’s beautiful landscapes in the Sorola outdoor area, where you can climb the fitness stairs up the ridge, or play in the disc golf park at Ranta-Koivisto. There are lakes for swimming (the closest is Suoramajärvi), as well as ice-skating rinks and cross-country ski trails in the winter.

For small children (toddler age) the bigger side of the house may not be safe, since there are so many plants with big pots on small tables, and some of the plants have needles. We can always discuss about the plants before your stay, as I can always make arrangements.

If you need a car during your stay, you can borrow my lime-colored Toyota C-HR if it's available. During your stay we will most likely live on the other side of the house, in the smaller apartment, if we don't go to our summerhouse or travel to your home or other destination.
Kangasala is a large area beside the city of Tampere, mostly countryside with a small center of its own. Our house is located just a few kilometers from the Kangasala town center and about 15 km from Tampere city center.
