Honomū Haven is the perfect home base for exploring the magnificent Big Island of Hawaii. Excellent for a large family or multiple families up to 10 people. This 5 bedroom/2 bathroom spacious and comfortable home is located in the charming town of Honomū, just a 20 minute drive north of Downtown Hilo and a 5 minute drive from Akaka Falls State Park. Relax on the screened in patio overlooking a tropical yard with fruit trees and native Hawaiian plants. Enjoy a stunning view of Mauna Kea on the spacious front balcony. Honomū Haven is nestled quietly at the end of town surrounded by churches of all denominations, a few residential homes and accross the street from a newly renovated public gym with basketball/pickleball court and a small playground in the park behind it. Honomū town is a classic streetscape with cute shops located just a one minute walk from Honomū Haven. Local shops include Mr. Ed's Bakery, The Hive Cafe, Birra Boss Mexican Restaurant, Glass from the Past Antiques, Woodshop Art Gallery & Cafe, Purple Eye Boutique, and Hawaii Zipline Tours. Honomū is also the gateway to 'Akaka Falls State Park where you can take a walk through the tropical rainforest and view the cascading 'Akaka & Kahuna Waterfalls. Honomū is an hour drive from Hawaii Volcano National Park and a two hour drive from Kailua-Kona. We welcome you to come and enjoy the lush and laid back Hāmākua Coast.

Please note that we have excellent cleaners who clean before and after each stay. We pay them $275 for each stay and this will be a required cost of doing an exchange with us. Also, our home is located in a tropical environment where there are many creatures including coqui frogs, geckos, ants, centipedes, etc.! We do regular pest treatment in and around the home but there may be little creatures outside the home in their natural environment. Mahalo!
