Wat je fantastisch zult vinden in dit huis
My holiday flat is on the left hand side of the upper ground floor of a Victorian house and has a large light sitting room, comfortably furnished with a sofa that makes into a double bed, a large bedroom with twin beds,( recent mattresses) and small bathroom and kitchen.It is reached by about 10 outside steps. There is on the street parking time limited in front of the house, but unlimited behind the house.As the flat is very central,it can be a little difficult to park during the day,but it is normally OK in the evening. Once parked,you will probably find that you don't need to use the car everyday as shops,restaurants and the beach are nearby and the train and bus are very close.I strongly recommend that to visit Lewes or Brighton,you use the excellent public transport. Parking is extremely expensive in Brighton seven days a week,the payment system is complicated and wardens check very frequently. It has recently greatly increased in Lewes and Eastbourne too,so public transport will often be cheaper.Currently it is only £3 each way to Brighton or Eastbourne or any one bus and free for children. An all day saver using several buses is about £6.Don't forget that if coming from outside the UK you need a passport not an identity card.

The flat is situated in central Seaford, a quiet seaside resort in S.E England with a population of about 30 000. It has excellent public transport very nearby with buses and trains to Brighton, Lewes and on to Gatwick and London if you change trains.From Brighton there are trains to St Pancras International and to places north of London. Seaford is also very near Newhaven, where the ferry from Dieppe in France arrives.The bus and train stop at the port.Buses and trains run from early to late to Brighton(45 minutes minimum) and Eastbourne(30 minutes). In the Eastbourne direction you have one of the most beautiful bus routes in the country through an area of outstanding natural beauty. You can walk along the meanders of the river Cuckmere or over the cliffs of Seaford Head and the Seven Sisters. The flat is near the shops, cafés and restaurants (many are independantly owned) and in 7 minutes you are on the seafront with its pebble beaches and wide promenade and cliff walks at the end of the seafront. There are a variety of picturesque villages and small towns to visit nearby(Lewes, Alfriston etc),historic houses ,castles and gardens( e. g homes of Virginia Woolf and Kipling) and the lively, trendy seaside resort of Brighton is 15 miles away. In May there is a big arts festival there, similar to those held in Edinburgh and Avignon and there is the famous Indian Palace the Royal Pavillion and beautiful Regency architecture. You can easily go on a day trip to London by train (about 2h change in Lewes or Brighton) and in the summer you can swim in the sea from the shingle beach. It does however shelve very steeply.There are 2 golf courses. You have the best of both worlds, a quiet town, with beautiful coastal and countryside walks and bike rides nearby and easy access to historic towns and city life(Brighton, Eastbourne, London), when you want it.

The first 6 photos show the flat and Seaford beach and Seaford Head.. The last three are the Seven Sisters (walking distance over the steep cliffs to the Cuckmere river),the Royal Pavillion in Brighton( 40 mins by train) and Lewes (18 minutes by train).I am retired and may be interested in exchanges in Europe from time to time, otherwise the flat is sometimes available for GPs..I am particularly interested in a UK exchange to the West Country or Wales or the north around Easter or in the summer .. If you come by car I would ask you to please bring sheets and towels. Otherwise there are sheets and towels in the cupboards, but I would appreciate a contribution to the flat cleaning in this case. .I also prefer a minimum of 4 nights as usually I pay someone to check the flat each time,as I am not local,but I trust experienced home exchangers to look after the flat and leave it as they would like to find it. To respect the other residents I prefer 1 or 2 guests although the flat sleeps 4 if you use the living room sofa. The flat isn't really suitable for more than one young child and there is no special equipment for young children.You will really be more comfortable if there are 2 of you. There is a small Tesco Express open early to late on the corner of the street, so whatever time you arrive, you will be able to get what you need. It is a holiday flat and a Victorian building, so there are a few small imperfections in the decor, and the livingroom and bedroom have just been repainted..There are 4 other permanently occupied flats in the building.The residents are quiet, so I would ask you to be quiet and respectful of them too. The matresses on the twin beds are fairly new and in January 2025 the carpets,matresses and upholstery were professionally cleaned.

There is a fire alarm system throughout the building and a CO2 detector and smoke alarm.Gas safety checks have been made several times in recent years.
