Wat je fantastisch zult vinden in dit huis
We love our classic, 104-year-old Portland home and we know you will too. We are in a great location, situated on a quiet neighborhood street, yet set smack-dab in the middle of two of Portland's premier dining and shopping streets; the historic Mississippi District and the more modern N. Williams Corridor. Come home for some R & R on the porch or in the garden, or walk a few blocks to a plethora of dining options.
RELAXING FRONT PORCH AND YARD: Roses greet our guests out front in the spring through fall. Hop bines shade the south side of our home May through August. If you're here in late-summer, feel free to pluck a few hops and plunk them right in your pint! Enjoy our big front porch with bubbling fountain in the garden below. In the back, you'll find a native garden as well as built-in benches and a table for dining al fresco.
HOUSE AND AMENITIES: Inside our home there are 3 bedrooms, a modest full bath upstairs and a half bath on the main floor. There are 2 queen-size beds and 1 twin, with a trundle. If you decide to stay in, there's a full kitchen, formal dining room, beautiful coved-ceiling great room with a gas fireplace, or snuggle up downstairs for a movie night in the TV room. We have wi-fi and access to Netflix, Prime Movies, Disney Plus, Apple TV+ and even some DVDs, if you're feeling nostalgic.

NEIGHBORHOOD
FUN & WALKABLE: Located in a walking and biking paradise (93 Walk Score, 100 Bike Score) - Walk to historic Mississippi Ave and North Williams Corridor, a microcosm of the best of Portland; here you'll find everything from the city's first food cart pod surrounding a German beer hall (Prost!), to live music (Mississippi Studios), to purveyors of fine chocolates and salts (The Meadows). Plus, cafes, bakeries, record and instrument shops, a jazz club, an opera bar, a vegan ice creamery (Kate's…so good), a light bulb museum, a taxidermist giftery, and a cat-themed gift shop to round out your retail therapy.
Bonus: Oregon has no sales tax!
BIKING: If you get around to leaving our neighborhood you'll find that Portland is a very bike-friendly city. N. Williams Avenue has large bike lanes for easy access to downtown. The whole city has bike lanes making it fun and easy to get around by bike. We have 3 bikes of various sizes here, but if you need more…Three Nike Bike rental stations are just a short stroll away. Rent a bike to zig-zag across bridges, explore our city's beautiful parks, find a neighborhood farmers market, or coast across the Broadway Bridge to the waterfront and downtown in just 10 minutes. When you're done riding, simply return your bike to any of the 100 stations around town.
CITY
SHOPS & RESTAURANTS: If you ever get around to leaving the neighborhood…we are just minutes from downtown by bike or car. Downtown is bouncing back! It's been a joy to watch it return to form. It has a vibrant shopping and food scene (only U.S. city named to Time Out Mag's list of top cities in the WORLD for food), and of course, the largest independent book store, Powells Books that takes up a full city block and is 4 stories tall.
PARKS: We have 2 large rose gardens; Peninsula Park sunken rose garden and Washington Park International Rose Test Garden. Washington Park also has the Portland Zoo, Japanese Garden and more. On hot days, visit one of several parks with fountains to splash in to cool off. If you enjoy hiking or just being outdoors, our home is just a 10-minute drive to Forest Park (the largest urban park in the United States).
MUSEUMS: Visit the Portland Art museum and Historical Society for some culture. Or make a reservation at Hopscotch for something different.
SPORTS: Sports fans might grab a beer at Lazy Days or Upright Brewing on your way to the Moda Center (5 min drive away) where the Portland Trail Blazers play (and concerts). The Timbers stadium is downtown and easy to access by car or the MAX light rail.
REGION
For more outdoor fun, we are a 45-minute drive to the waterfall district and the Columbia River Gorge and 90 minutes to the coast. Seattle is just a 3-hour drive from Portland. PDX International airport is just 20 min away by car. Alaska Airlines has many inexpensive nonstop flights from Portland to all the cities on the West Coast like San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.
People come from all over the city, the country and the world to enjoy our part of Portland and the beautiful Pacific Northwest. If you're looking to stay in an authentic Portland neighborhood, in a classic Portland-style home that's close to everything, then consider yourself home.

Aanvullende informatie
SAFETY: Our home is equipped with fire/carbon monoxide detectors, fire ladder, and fire extinguisher.
ANIMALS: We have a very sweet black cat. She has an automatic feeder, so you won't need to feed her. She is an oldie but goodie. She loves people, but does not get along with other animals, so no pets are allowed in our home. Our daughter has a fish tank that needs no care. We use slow release food while away.
PLANTS: Our lush outdoor gardens are either native plants that don't need watering, or plants on an automatic drip system. There are a few house plants that need periodic watering (no more than weekly).
CAR: Depending on insurance, we do consider car swaps.
BIKES: We have 3 (adult) bikes available, plus there are Nike Bike electric bike rentals all over our neighborhood, as well as electric scooters for rent.
TRANSIT: Super easy to catch a ride share or the #4 bus downtown.
