THE VILLAGE:
Our 1860 house is located in a charming
typically provencal lively village, showing a
10 thcentury castle remains, a nice wind
mill . . . Rustling fountains , arcades
are everywhere
in those medieval narrow streets . Imagine
you can walk to your first morning cafe with
fresh croissant ! . From our house door you
can walk to everything in the village : bars,
restaurants, grocery or meat shop, chemist
, doctor, hairdresser. . . including the 2 village
nice very clean pools around the corner .
APT is the closest town where you will find
everything you need. On saturday morning
the market spreads all over the old town the
best place to taste local goat cheese or buy
georgous fruits.
THE AREA .
There is the Luberon mountain and its
pure medieval villages clutched at the
top of hills , above , Sault and its lavender
fields. We are surrounded by vineyards
and orchards, it is beautiful to drive through
them. Everywhere you look at is beautiful
: the landscapes, villages or architecture
details are worth a photo. . . besides many
photo books , magazine pieces are
constantly edited on the region.
Some famous villages like Gordes or
Roussillon are now more touristic than `
really a place where local people live they
are considered "chic and snobbish" if you
come in June or September you will see
them at their best without the crowd.
Ochre cliffs are spectacular and unique
in France ( all right this is not Am Colorado. . . . )
but still it is very nice to walk on the trails
in the "colorado provencal".
OUR HOUSE:
Is a traditional 1860 provencal house
with good volumes, 4 bedrooms, A full
bathroom , 3 toilets, a shower, a big living
room, kitchen opened on the terrasse and
a small garden. We have bought it and totally
repainted in white recently; It is airy and very
sunny even during winter.
Every bedroom as a view on the garden and
the Luberon .
ACTIVITIES:
In summer they are free night balls on the
plazzas, classical or jazz concerts , theater,
often performed in beautiful places like
roman churches or big quaries or castles
'yards or antique roman arenas.
Provence is known for its summer festivals
and night life . Each night and day there is
such a range of "cultural "or " gastonomic "
activities that it is impossible to describe
them all . Visiting the vineyards or choosing
to go to a different village market everyday
can be a theme but visiting Antique Roman
remains in cities like Arles, Nimes , Orange
or Vaison la Romaine can be very interesting
too.
SPORTS :
You can swimm at St Saturnin's pools,
there is a skate parc ( formarly and orchard)
where kids can safely walk to ; Now the region
is crisscrossed with trails you can w alk on .
Tennis courts can be rented.
Canoe Kayacking is fun on the Sorgues.
You can ride horses or donkeys.
Climbing rocks is also possible and the
Mediterranean sea is only 1hour and a half
drive if you want to look at the coast.
