Cozy Old Portland Craftsmen with charm! Bright, clean, safe & quiet neighborly street, central NE location, easy ride from airport.
On Neighborhood Greenway quiet streets. Close to bike rental, Hollywood, Alberta Arts District. Walking trail, tennis courts, children's park, food carts, restaurants & coffee shops.
Full kitchen, access to grand piano & covered porches. Shared with two cats Phil and Coco, hosts sleep on 2nd Fl. You'll have a PRIVATE room & PRIVATE bathroom with bath tub on the first floor. If you are more than 2 people we have another private bedroom in the basement that can sleep up to two more people. There are photos of that room in our listing.
We look forward to hosting you! This non-smoking room has a queen tempur-pedic mattress, a desk and a large window overlooking the back yard garden. We do have a window air conditioner that could be put into this room for very hot days, if need be.
You will enjoy our lovely 1907 craftsman home. Much of the charm comes from its original wood trim, pocket doors, large windows with window seats. Our home is musical. You many get lucky enough to hear our daughter play her cello or Gregg play the grand piano or an occasional jazz music jam session. It's inspiring for listeners and you will certainly be welcome to join in if you are so inclined.
The house has a large kitchen with prepping island, and attached eating nook, perfect for games, reading and meals. There are plenty of places out side to relax and enjoy a cup of tea, lounge on the decks, star gaze from the comfy chairs and enjoy our humming birds.
If you're here during the school year we're usually to bed early and up and moving by 7:00 am. You will hear us walking around getting ready for our day and you may even hear some cello :), giggles and laughter during breakfast and coffee time.

We’re just two blocks from Sacramento Street, where you'll find a beautiful trail overlooking the Rose City Golf Course, offering stunning views of Mt. Hood. The area also features a walking trail alongside the golf course, a children's park, tennis courts, and a baseball diamond. Stroll through our garden-filled neighborhood, and you'll discover a charming selection of local restaurants, food carts, a farmers' market, and even live music!
For some nearby adventures, explore hiking along the Sandy River at Oxbow Park, Forest Park, and Mt. Tabor, or take in the lively charm of NW 23rd, the Hawthorne area with our famous Powell’s Books, and Alberta Street for shopping. Many guests also love visiting the Saturday Market in the NW area near the river.
Portland is just an hour away from Mt. Hood, where you can enjoy hiking and exploring the great outdoors. The picturesque town of Hood River is perfect for watching kiteboarders in the world-renowned Columbia River Gorge. There are also numerous hikes along both the Washington and Portland sides of the Gorge, where you can immerse yourself in lush forests while trekking to breathtaking waterfalls.
If you're in the mood for a coastal getaway, head the other direction to Manzanita, Cannon Beach, Hug Point, or Astoria—just a few of our favorite seaside destinations.
We’re conveniently located near the Metro bus line, with a short walk to catch the 12 bus into downtown Portland. Plus, we’re just a 15-minute ride share from PDX International Airport.
Planning on biking? No problem! Simply walk four blocks west to the bike rental station at the corner of NE Alameda and 58th. We’re also located along a biking greenway for easy access to cycling adventures.
