Walkable to everything in Caldas da Rainha, the Farmers Market, our Beautiful Dom Carlos 1 Park, grocery shopping, Fish Market and all the restaurants, bars, outdoor art gallery, museums and shopping in downtown Caldas. It is newly constructed, completed in October, 2020 with a Front Entrance Lobby and full-service elevator to the building. We are located on the 5th and top floor in a 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Condo. (We will be locking off the 3rd bedroom, therefore there is generous space for 4 adults.)
It is modern and fully furnished with a complete kitchen, dining, living area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with bathtub. Our Boca do Lobo dining table and custom seating will seat up to ten people. Our large island and well appointed kitchen is fabulous for anyone who likes to cook.
The master bedroom has a California King Tempur-Pedic mattress with beautiful bedding from France. The second bedroom is an oversized Queen sized bed.
Our favorite things about our condo are the beautiful views out to the city’s green spaces off 1 of our 2 large decks and the "Walkability" to everything in Caldas da Rainha.
Our deck is furnished for Happy Hour!!! Watch sunsets in the evening, enjoy coffee and Pastel da Nata's in the morning, and listen to the birds sing throughout the day.
We welcome you to our beautiful “Slice of Portugal!”

Welcome to Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, situated at the hub of the Silver Coast along the Atlantic Ocean only 1-hour drive North of Lisbon!
Caldas da Rainha, translated as “The Queen’s Hot Springs,” was founded in 1484 by Queen Leonor. She established the world’s first formal hospital at the site of the therapeutic Hot Springs which still functions today. Caldas da Rainha is also a UNESCO Creative City and is home to many cultural institutions, including nine museums and Portugal’s finest Art University.
There are many things to do in and around Caldas. A few of our favorites:
• FARMERS MARKET (Praça da Fruta) Is a short walk from our Condo. Top of the list is our famous Farmer’s Market 365 Days/Year. We buy all of our produce, meats, cheeses, bread, olives, nuts and fruits on almost a daily basis.
• DOM CARLOS I PARK Our beautiful park with 2 Cafes is a short walk out our front door and is one of the pearls of the city. Along the way, grab your Pastel da Nata and Café from one of the many Pastelerias. When visiting the Park you will see the Park Pavilions, a lake where you can rent a row boat for a lovely stroll on the lake, the works of the naturalist painter José Malhoa or the master Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro. My favorite building in all of Caldas that flanks the park is the one that inspired JK Rowlings School of Hogwarts. There is also the José Malhoa Museum, the first project building in Portugal for museological purposes. In the gardens throughout the park, you can find statues of Leopoldo de Almeida, Soares dos Reis or Franco, the author of the statue of Queen Dona Leonor who is at the gates of the city.
• FOZ DO ARELHO BEACH A short 5-mile drive is one of the hidden gems of Europe; the fishing village of Foz Do Arelho and its beautiful beaches. Situated on the Obidos Lagoon, (the largest salt water lagoon in all of Europe) and the Atlantic Ocean. There are many restaurants with fresh daily seafood caught that very morning. It is also known as one of the most family friendly beaches in all of Europe with the gentle waves of the lagoon and the (sometimes) giant waves of ocean ideal for surfing! Watch the Kite Surfers and Hang Gliders as thy sail through the sky. During certain times of the year, even dolphins come in to the lagoon for a swim.
• OBIDOS CASTLE/ROMAN RUINS The Medieval City of Óbidos is 10 minutes from our condo and we think Óbidos is one of Portugal’s most adorable and authentic villages. It boasts the Obidos Castle, built by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago with an intact well-preserved Roman aqueduct. The dreamy UNESCO village is perched fetchingly on a hill and encircled with stout medieval walls. It’s decorated with splashes of blue and yellow paint and filled with bougainvillea-covered whitewashed homes. A wonderful place for an afternoon picnic.
• FATIMA 8 million pilgrims visit the city of Fátima every year to witness the place of the miracles. The sanctuary even sparks the curiosity of atheists and is welcoming to many pilgrims of all religions, not just Catholicism. Sacred sights here include the Capelinha das Aparições, where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to local children in 1917, the Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, with its golden angels, and the modern church of Igreja da Santíssima Trindade.
• SINTRA The Crown Jewel of the Portuguese Riviera, Sits just 14 miles outside of Lisbon, and is a 1 hour drive from our Condo. Sintra is known for its beautiful palaces and mansions, 19th-century gardens, and surrounding natural beauty. One of my favorite day trips and so much to explore! An unforgettable town and UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with 19th-century Romanticist architecture, fairytale castles and exquisite gardens. Here you'll visit the Quinta da Regaleira Gardens and Palace considered the most enigmatic of all the estates in Sintra. The palace is a fusion of ornate and colorful architectural styles but the main attraction is the extensive gardens, filled with symbolism and intriguing constructions. In the afternoon head to Cape Roca, the most westerly point of the European continent. Here you can soak up the views of the Atlantic Ocean and explore the village of Cascais, once the chosen beach destination of the aristocracy.
• LISBON Known for its dramatic coastline, castle of St. and pastel-colored buildings. Take a Walking Tour for an eye-opening overview of this incredible city and explore the oldest parts to admire the ornate architecture. Begin with a fascinating walking tour of Alfama, one of the oldest areas in the city, perched upon the hillside with spectacular views across the sprawling cityscape. End your morning tour at the church of the Monastery of Jeronimos, home to the tomb of Vasco da Gama and the famous poet Camões. Stop for a moment to contemplate the incredible Belem Tower before heading to the Pasteis de Belem for a mouth-watering pastry tasting session. Be sure to try a delicious Pastel de Nata, perhaps the most famous pastry in the country. In the afternoon, explore the city center around the Praça do Comércio Square and Rossio Square.
