We are a family of 6 who live in South Manchester in England. My partner and I have travelled all over the world and we have 4 children (3 boys aged aged 16, 14, 12 and 1 girl aged 5). I am a therapist and my partner works in private healthcare.
We live in a beautifully decorated and spacious 5 bedroom house in an affluent, leafy suburb called West Didsbury in Manchester. The house is located on a quiet road and is very close to all local bus routes and a short walk to the Manchester Metro.
We purchased our home in 2010 and it underwent back to brick renovation for around 6 months and modernization to a very high standard. In 2015 we converted our loft space, adding additional living space across 3 floors. The house layout consists of:
• Ground floor hallway linking to living room and kitchen (oak flooring throughout)
• The large living room has leather sofas and a wall mounted television
• The modern kitchen/dining room is very large and has all modern appliances, including dishwasher, washing machine, large American style fridge freezer, microwave, gas hob, and electric double oven
• The first floor consists of 3 bedrooms and one bathroom – one bedroom with a superking size bed, one bedroom with bunk beds, and a bedroom with a trundle bed for small child. The first floor bathroom has a shower and bath as well as toilet and sink
• On the second floor is a bedroom with a double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. The second room is used as a bedroom (double sofa bed), office, or playroom
There are toys and games to keep all ages entertained and we also have an Xbox series X and PlayStation 4, which we are happy for people to use.
All windows and doors are double glazed, all the upper floors are carpeted, hot water is pressurized from a large tank under the staircase, both bathrooms have underfloor heating and bathroom radiators can be gas or electric heated.
The rear garden is accessed via patio doors at the rear of the kitchen and consists of a decked and flag stoned area which has a table and 6 chairs with parasol. The house backs onto 2 small blocks of 2 storey flats and is very private and not over looked at all. The rear alley behind the garden is home to the refuse bins and is shared by all the properties in our row of houses.
Smoke and pet free home (apart from guinea pigs who live outside but very occasionally come inside briefly when cleaning them out or during particularly cold weather - in a cage). They will not be here during any exchanges.)

We live approx 10mins walk from West Didsbury village and 20mins walk from Didsbury village in a small suburb approx 15 mins drive from Manchester City centre. A Victorian terraced house, we live on a small quiet road in a quiet residential area. Friendly neighbours with our own WhatsApp group. .
We live approx. 5 miles from Manchester city centre and are ideally located for visiting the city centre, Old Trafford football stadium, Etihad football stadium, Trafford Centre or wider areas of the UK. Our house is only a 10 minutes’ walk to West Didsbury which has lots of independent bars and restaurants and approx. 20 minutes’ walk to Didsbury Village, also home to independent shops, bars, and restaurants.
Local makers market every month plus walking access to some lovely parks and river walks. Less than 10 mins walk to a tram stop which takes you straight into Manchester City centre - vibrant and eclectic catering to every age group and interest. Shopping, theatre, entertainment, hundreds of restaurants, great music, art and culture scene.
Loads of things to do in the area for kids of all ages - let us know their ages and we can give lots of recommendations.
Manchester airport is less than 15 minutes’ drive from our house and within an hour’s drive is the picturesque Peak District and around 2 hours’ drive is the beautiful Lake District. We are also close (20 minutes’ drive) to the M6 motorway, which links to North and South England.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer a car swap - much as we’d love to it has proved impossible for us to find any company who will insure the car for any driver who is not a UK resident. Apologies - very annoying!
We are always open to swapping cleaners on departure! We have one we use regularly who is usually very flexible and we can usually book her in advance for a particular day/time to suit guests.
Any back to back exchanges will incur a cleaning fee of £50 (sorry we've had a couple of not great experiences of house not being left clean after a back to back exchange).
