Hva kommer du til å elske i dette hjemmet
Beautiful 1928 traditional Swedish wooden house in unique location near Stockholm. A real pearl both thanks to its location, decoration and styling.
The house is situated in Solgard, a quant, silent and calm residential area on a hill in the commune of Huddinge. The house is located in a dominating position, giving it fantastic views and sun and light all day.
The house was renovated in 2021 and March 2022. The owners were aiming to give the house a true vacation feel, with white balconies, wooden terraces all around, all very private thanks to the high position of the house compared to the neighboring houses.
The house has white windows and the façade is in the traditional Falu red color, coming from the Northern Swedish copper mines.
The garden has a lot of flower trees, and deer sometimes come by in the garden. There is a lot of rare birds frequenting the garden.
The house has parkingspace for 2 cars, a pathway leading you to the house, which is quite hidden from the small road.
There is almost no traffic in this street, only generated by the neighbors.
Inside the house the vacation feeling continues, with the wooden floors painted white, large windows everywhere, some with antique glass, giving it a real Gustavian Swedish feel.
On the ground level (main entrance) there is a large hall, a separate room with washing machine and dryer, a large bathroom with toilet, sink and shower (not yet renovated) and a separate storage room. The downstairs bathroom can easily be used by those staying in the Stuga (the guesthouse in the garden) as they can access easily via this main entrance.
A white wooden staircase takes you to the main floor, where you have all bedrooms, the living room, office, dining room, kitchen and second bathroom.
All rooms are exceptionally light and very cosy and decorated with a lot of care, integrating elements from the many travels of the owners, with some nice African decoration pieces.
The living room is the statement room of the house, thanks to its central location in the house and to its high mezzanine ceilings giving the room the feel of a Long Island house. The room was repainted early 2022. There is a fireplace, a roof ventilator, access to the large balcony with lounge area/sofas with comfy pillows, perfect for enjoying sundowner drinks or to look at the starlit skies at night.
In this beautiful room there is plenty of seating space (a large corner 5 seater near the window, a lounge seat on the opposite site of the room, all 1 month old, 2 Moroccan hockers in front of the fireplace). There is an LCD TV. In the house there is also a google home sound system you can connect to.
The large windows let the sunlight flood in abundantly, and give you beautiful views in all directions. There are roman blinds to temper the sunlight.
Next to the lounge room you can find the dining room, with a large teak dining room table, and 2 benches, seating easily 6, more in case there are also children. The 3 bamboo lights above the table (dimmable) give you the atmosphere to enjoy a nice dinner, in case weather does not allow you to have this outside in the garden or on the terrace.
A large bay window with antique glass gives a calming view to the garden and stuga.
There is also a seating area in the dining room, with a leather butterfly chair, to enjoy a book or read some touristic guides to prepare your next day excursion.
There are 3 bedrooms in the house, sleeping 5. The stuga sleeps an additional 2.
The master bedroom has a large room-width build-in wardrobe (partly mirrored) and a large comfortable bed, a large window facing the garden, where you can see deer walking past when you are lucky.
The second bedroom has a window to one of the terraces, a single bed, wardrobe and large desk.
The third bedroom has beautiful views on the surrounding area. There is a single bed/daybed, a wardrobe and large desk/make-up table on the first level of the room and via a small staircase in the room you can access a bed in the mezzanine loft-space (very cool for teens) with a window both outside and inside the mezzanine living room.
The kitchen is light and fully equipped (oven, induction cooking, air extractor, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, espresso machine, toaster, dishwasher, bread-maker). The kitchen was repainted early 2022, all in natural colors, contributing to the vacation feeling. The kitchen has direct access to the garden via the second entrance of the house. Also you can easily serve lunch on the large balcony, adjacent to the kitchen.
From the kitchen, you can go via a landing with cloak wardrobe, to the study, with a desk and view on the terrace.
The second bathroom of the house, on this floor, was totally renovated in 2021 with beautiful design material (floor and wall tiles from Design Studio Piet Boon Netherlands), cream Moroccan zelige tyles in the shower, black rain shower and sink tabs, hanging toilet, 2 granite sink bowls with storage in the cupboard underneath, led spotlights in the ceiling. Large mirror with ambiance lights, integrated make-up mirror and heating. There are English wooden blinds to give the room the right ambiance.
In the garden guesthouse (“Stuga”) there is a double bed (brand new), cupboard and desk and 2 windows to the garden. The Stuga has its own terrace.
In the garden you can find a barbecue, a large dining room table and chairs, 2 lounge seats, an integrated bench on the wooden terrace. Lanterns give the terrace a beautiful atmosphere in the evenings. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner on the terrace, or rest and enjoy the sun between visits to the Stockholm area.
