Hva kommer du til å elske i dette hjemmet

Our home is a cheerful New England saltbox colonial nestled in the coastal village of Camden, Maine. With four floors of comfortable living, you will find this the perfect place to get away in every season.

The house is great for all visitors; there is a master bedroom and bathroom on the main floor along with a fully-stocked kitchen, dining room that comfortably seats 6 people and a lovely living room with a pellet burning stove and music area (piano and guitar). On the second floor you'll find two bedrooms (each with a queen size bed), a full bathroom and an office. The third floor has four single beds tucked under the eaves and a small playroom. In the basement there is a TV/family room/playroom. We can easily accommodate families with children; we have toys, books, games, craft supplies and kids' movies, as well as a large yard with trampoline, zip line, and small trails through the woods. Enjoy lounging on the deck and taking a dip in the outdoor jacuzzi, star-gaze in the dark night skies, pick some fresh veggies from the backyard garden beds, and enjoy the flowers and trees that surround the house.

You might appreciate that we value natural and homemade items and strive to live a mindful, waste-free lifestyle, in tune with nature. Our home is our sanctuary; we love it here and hope you will, too.

Hva du vil elske med dette nabolaget

Pleasant Ridge Drive is a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is only two miles from downtown Camden, a quintessential coastal village in Midcoast Maine. We are just a few minutes drive from all the conveniences of the grocery store, schools, post office, shops and restaurants.

Camden is a haven for ocean and mountain lovers, shoppers, foodies and outdoor adventurers. Each season comes with its own charm:

Summer offers swimming, boating, fishing at the nearby ocean and lake beaches and many opportunities to attend community events and farmers markets. Beach goers will love Barret's Cove, a fresh water beach on Megunticook Lake. Nearby Laite Beach on the ocean is small and scenic, overlooking beautiful views of Camden Harbor just a short distance from downtown. It is a perfect spot to search for shells, sea glass and other ocean treasures. The next town over hosts Lincolnville Beach where you can pick up lobster rolls and enjoy them on the sandy beach! There are also a number of festivals to see such as the annual Parade of the Tallships and Maine Windjammer Days as well as the Camden Jazz Festival.

Winter at the Camden Snow Bowl on Ragged Mountain is a local treasure and the only Eastern ski area with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Camden Snow Bowl is also home to the North American Toboggan Championships. Ice-skating, snow shoeing, and cross-country (alpine) skiing are also popular and easily accessible winter activities.

Spring and Autumn are also great times to visit Camden as New England is internationally famous for its bright fall foliage and apple picking, and spring colors set by local streams and farms.

Downtown Camden on the harbor is situated in a carefree setting with boutiques, antique shops, art galleries, general stores, seafood eateries and cafés, and a relaxing waterfront park (adjacent to the public library). There is a wide array of restaurants lining the downtown and waterfront areas, where guests may enjoy freshly caught seafood and other well-made meals; or order "to go' and head to one of the many public parks in the area for a scenic picnic.

For nearby excursions, check out Rockport (10 mins away), Rockland (15 mins away), and Belfast (30 mins away) all with great downtowns with working harbors to catch a boat ride and to view up close the lobstering and fishing boats so essential to the local economy. Other worthwhile day trips include visiting Camden's outlying islands (Isleboro, Vinalhaven, North Haven, Isle Au Haut), accessible by boat or ferry out of Camden Harbor. See some of the 18 lighthouses within a 40-mile radius of Camden. Curtis Island Light is located at the entrance to Camden Harbor and is still actively used by the US Coast Guard.

We also recommend nearby Camden Hills State Park with opportunities to walk (easy) or hike (moderate) to gain views of the ocean and sunrise/sunset over Penobscot Bay. If you don't feel like hiking, drive the Auto Road up Mt. Battie for panoramic views of the Bay and nearby islands. Maiden's Cliff is one of the more popular hiking trails, an 800-foot rock cliff that provides spectacular views of Lake Megunticook and the Maine countryside. Beyond the state park, some of our favorite nearby hikes also include Beech Hill Preserve and Ragged mountain.

For slightly longer excursions, we're about 60 minutes away from Acadia National Park, numerous state parks and forests, and cities of Bangor and Augusta. Downtown Freeport (home to LL Bean) and Portland are approximately 90 minutes away. And the big city of Boston is about 3 hours away. This truly is a gem of a location and we hope you enjoy exploring it!

We love to travel and discover new and different parts of the world! We're open to all offers, but because this is our primary residence, we are mostly interested in simultaneous exchanges.

Also, because we live in such a desirable area, we receive many offers for exchanges and because we have limited online time each day, we're not always able to respond quickly. Sometimes it might take us a few days as we try to seriously consider each offer and research travel options. Please be patient and feel free to send a followup message as a reminder!
