Our home is a rambler with a bonus room above the three-car garage on an acre lot with a huge backyard and lots of landscaping. We have a large, newly remodeled kitchen that is open to the large family room and a formal dining room. The large master suite has a split California king adjustable bed. The two kids' bedrooms both have queen beds, one is also adjustable. Both are joined by a jack and jill bathroom. The family room has a tv with a PS4 and Netflix. There is also a bonus room above the garage which is the play area for the kids (and dad) with a PS3, craft table, and tons of board games. We have a queen size murphy bed in the den so our home will sleep eight in beds, but we also have a couple of cots if necessary (or a couple of comfy couches). Much of our furniture (bed, grandfather clock, bookshelves, island, end tables, etc...) were handmade by Sadie's father using locally sourced wood. We just added an armoire in the bedroom specifically for our exchange guests to use while here. We know a few people who paint so we commission one of them to do a painting for us from a photo that we take each trip so those adorn our walls. We have an entertainment-size patio with a connected gas BBQ so you never have to worry about running out of fuel and we just added a gas firepit to enjoy in the evenings. If you enjoy gardening, we have two garden areas with a variety of plants. We love being able to walk into the backyard and pick raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and apples from our fruit trees. During the pandemic, we added a workout space in the garage with a treadmill, bench, some free weights and resistance bands, and of course a tv/speakers.

We live in a rural development between the towns of Snohomish and Monroe. It takes about 12 minutes to get to Monroe which has all the shopping you would need along with a movie theater. Snohomish is about 18 minutes, has a really cute downtown area with lots of antique shops and a farmer's market Thursday afternoons. Some of the places that our previous home exchangers have gone include:
- Everett (30 min) has the Future of Flight Museum and Boeing Tours.
- Seattle Premium Outlets and Tulalip Casino in Marysville (35 min).
- Seattle (50 min) has enough to occupy several days with the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Museum of Flight, Chihuly Garden, the locks, Seattle Center, Woodland Park Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Pop Culture and Scifi Hall of Fame, the waterfront and aquarium to name a few things.
- Wild Waves Theme Park and Water Slides (1:10) are a fun way to spend a day.
- Microsoft's Visitor Center is in Redmond (45 min).
- Tacoma (1:20) has the LeMay Car Museum, Chihuly Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, and Pt. Defiance Zoo and aquarium.
- We love the little town of LaConner (1 hour) which has different artsy merchants (woodworking, glassblowing, pottery, etc...)
- If you head east over Stevens Pass, a beautiful drive, there is the Bavarian town of Leavenworth (1:45), which is worth spending a day at.
- A ferry ride is a must either to spend the day in the San Juan Islands or maybe to Whidbey Island where there is Ft. Casey, beaches and cool little towns and then you could make it a loop to go over the Deception Pass bridge on your return.
- Mt. Rainier National Park (2 hours).
- Canada is about two hours away with Vancouver B.C. at two and a half.
- For adventure seekers you can go skydiving or take a ride in a hot air baloon from the airport in Snohomish (15 min).
- Locally there is a Reptile Zoo in Monroe, lots of hiking to waterfalls or Cascade lakes but there are also a few lakes just minutes from our home where you could take out our stand up paddle board if you wanted.

We already have an exchange set up for summer of 2025 but there may be other times during the summer that our home would be available for guest points or a short reciprocal exchange so feel free to ask.
Car exchange may be possible if itineraries match up.
We have been adopted by a cat, which we were always hesitant to get because we didn't want to miss out on any possible exchange opportunities due to people being allergic or other issues but when he started living under our porch we just couldn't turn him away. Our neighbors also moved away and were unable to take their cat with them so we now have two. We have installed cat doors to the outside but they do have a litter box for inclement weather in the garage. It is possible to have a neighbor's kid take care of that so you don't have to. We also have an automatic feeder so you don't have to worry about the cats on a daily basis.
