Our home burned down in April of 2015. It was an accident and we took 14 months to put it back together. We could have gone with a second floor or really expanded it but, we added on a modest 625 square feet (now it's 1900) and changed the floorplan and added a completely self contained mother-in-law apartment for my sister (who is in her 80’s, works out 6 days a week and is awesome). It has it's own private entrance and, although she may be here when you are, it's a completely separate place and you can chat with her or be left alone.
We love our home and built it for entertaining. The Bedrooms are not large but they are filled with conveniences. The Great Room is where we spend most of our time indoors and our time is split between the front porch and back patio if we're outside.
We never thought we'd have the chance to build something exactly the way we wanted it so, even though the fire was awful, we're grateful that we have the house that is perfect for us and is a nice place to entertain guests!
Our Chefs Kitchen, which is part of our great room is great. If you like to cook the stove and prep areas are very welcoming and all appliances are modern and useful (like the drawer microwave in the Granite topped island). Tons of pocket and double drawers with everything you need to make a great family meal. Plenty of cooking stuff including oils and spices and really anything you might need.
A large Super Market is around the corner so, you have whatever you would like to make and, in the same shopping center are 7 great little local restaurants.
For you car enthusiasts, very Saturday morning, about two blocks away is a Donut Shop that hosts “Donut Derelicts”. This is 2-300 classic, historic and muscle cars owned by guys and girls who live to show off their cars.
We have completed 4 exchanges to Europe and want anyone who stays in our home to find it even more welcoming than the photos. We hope to make friends through this program and will treat your home as if it was our own.

Our neighbors are the best! A marvelous street where you will feel at home and can walk or just sit on the front porch. We host Wine Wednesdays and have 8 to 12 neighbors (just from our street) over (but don’t worry, they won’t show up when you’re here unless you invite them!) and you will feel very welcomed in this great beach town! Their contact information for a couple can be provided. It’s our little community of great people!
Our neighborhood is 5 minutes from Downtown Huntington Beach with great nightlife, excellent stores and the longest Pier on the West Coast. Not a pier to work from but more of a place to stroll, have lunch or dinner on (or near) or just explore - it's beautiful.
Tuesday night is "Surf City Nights" when they close down Main Street and bring in tons of booths with delicious food, excellent souvenirs and artwork and other things of interest.
The neighborhood around our house is quiet and we live on a cul de sac so traffic only flows one way and there are 6 houses on each side of the street so, it's a nice place - very safe.
We can hear the fireworks from Disneyland every night they set them off and we are located about 25-30 minutes from there or from Knott's Berry Farm.

The 3 bedrooms include the Master with French doors to the backyard and en-suite bath with an awesome shower and two sinks Two guest rooms with Queen size beds (one a Murphy bed we can set up before your arrival if you need it) that share a large bath with 2 sinks and an 8 foot tub.
