La Mesa is the jewel of the hills 20 minutes to the mountains or 20 minutes downtown, beaches, Mexican Border and 45 minutes to Guadalupe Valley in Baja, regarded as the Napa Valley 20 years ago. Start your day with an invigorating hike up the secret stairs over Mt Nebo, which gives you a great view of the city to the ocean. Enjoy a10 minute flat stroll to historical downtown La Mesa which just celebrated its centennial, always something happening like vintage car shows full of clubs & restaurants or catch the trolley downtown to the Gas Lamp or Mission Valley Mall. San Diego State University is 10 minutes away and so is all the cheap ethnic food. La Mesa has a farmers market every Friday, and I have an organic garden and fully stocked gourmet kitchen. Bring your your passport and be in Puerto Nuevo, Baja California for a lobster lunch, check out the fish market in Ensenda and drive home through Guadalupe valley and cross the border in Tecate.

Downtown is a 5 minute flat stroll to the Friday farmers market or drive over the hill to Costco and all retail. Its always sunny 360 days a year and superb location !We are full time Airbnb hosts, sharing our home with guests, so we do not go away in July and August because our house is usually full. Southern California is a popular tourist destination so you need to plan six months ahead if you want accommodation in summer! We are flexible at all other times of year for all kinds of exchanges so just inquire and are very keen to visit Italy, Spain, Cuba, France, India and Indonesia.
