Our North Lake Tahoe townhouse is a sanctuary, where we escape the stress of work, summer heat and winter fog in California's Central Valley. Located in The Villas in Tahoe City, CA, the townhouse has three indoor levels and 2 decks for relaxing and/or dining. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs and a loft with a bedroom and sitting area upstairs. The townhouse is updated and modern with every convenience, yet it is cozy and warm. Super comfy beds and linens provide a luxurious night's sleep with a king size beds in both the primary bedroom and the guest room and a queen bed in the loft. In the master bathroom, you will enjoy a wonderful soaker tub/shower combo after taking advantage of the many outdoor activities. Modern kitchen open to the living area which includes a fireplace, picture window, sliding door open to furnished deck with barbeque. Indoor washer/dryer as well. Large furnished front deck shared with one neighbor couple. Excellent internet, YouTube TV, streaming, cell reception. In our front porch storage closet, we have beach chairs, umbrella, inflatable mats for pool/lake, kick board, hiking sticks and outdoor games available for guests. In winter, we have traction covers available to strap on the bottom of shoes/boots, snowshoes, windshield scrapers, and snow shovel (although our HOA clears all the pathways and parking lot.) This is our sanctuary; it is not a rental, but we love the concept of home exchange.

Our fully-equipped townhouse is in a beautifully-maintained complex (The Villas) made up of about 80 units. Our unit shares only one common wall with our neighbors (only 2 units in our building) and trees and open space on the other side that you can enjoy from the picture window. The homeowner's association takes care of snow-removal in the winter and grounds, pool, spa, sauna, tennis and pickleball courts, volleyball/badminton court in the summer. Unit-specific parking for tenants and visitors right in front of the unit. We are just a short, beautiful walk (or drive) to the lake shore, close to two local beaches that have toilet and picnic facilities, great bakery a few blocks away. Downtown Tahoe City is less than 2 miles by car or paved trail for an easy walk or bike ride into town.
The scenic beauty of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains is beyond compare. There are many recreational and leisure activities available - hike, bike, kayak/stand-up paddle, boat, golf, picnic/read at the beach, ski, snowshoe, relax with a warm drink by the fire, watch the winter snow fall, and so much more. Wonderful multi-use trails all over - around the lake, along the river, through the forest. Great dining options of all levels and many varieties, craft beer taprooms, wine tasting shops, farmers markets, free concerts on the beach, arts and craft fairs, natural and cultural history museums of the area. Essentials, specialty items, deli, bakery and groceries are available at local supermarkets (Safeway and Savemart), drug stores (CVS), and hardware stores (Ace), and charming local shops sell one-of-a-kind items. North Lake Tahoe is a wonderful place to experience.

At the moment, we are not taking guest point exchanges.
The townhouse is not well-equipped for the safety of toddlers, small children or people with mobility challenges. There are three levels and balcony railings.
We have a handbook in our townhouse, explaining the use of everything, access codes, wi-fi, suggestions for activities and dining.
At the end of our visits, we wash and change the sheets and towels ourselves and have a house cleaning service to do the cleaning. To maintain a high standard of cleaning and disinfecting, we ask our guests to do the same and cover the $120 cleaning fee (or $150 if you don't want to wash the sheets and towels). Thank you.
