Our place is an ideal get-away for couples or a small group of friends and family. The 2 double bedrooms have comfy queen beds; the lounge has spectacular views out to the deck and the creek while the kitchen has all mod cons. There are enough en-suite bathrooms for all.
Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and electric blankets for the cooler weather. There are 2 big reverse cycle air conditioners to cool/ heat the living areas. The laundry has a washer and dryer.
One of the 3 bedrooms has been converted to a cosy TV lounge with heater and fan. We have a smart flat screen TV for gaming or streaming movies and music and Netflix subscription.
The gazebo, next to a small waterfall has seating for 10 and a gas BBQ which you reach easily via a boardwalk.
We feel as though we are in the ountry, yet we are only a few minutes drive from the bustling small town centre of Armadale. Here you will find all the major shopping chains, cinema, medical centre, library, visitors' centre, train station, scateboard park and all modern amenities.
The odd kangaroo can be seen lounging in the creek bed and if you venture up the hill at dusk you will see them hopping around silently. I have never seen a snake thank heavens, but we do have visiting ducks, kookaburras, parrots, possums and bandicoots. All harmless.
We are not far from walking trails such as the Bibulman track which runs all the way to Albany in the South.
The aquatic park should be finished soon,and the armadale arts centre is only a stone's throw away, All are welcome here and you can dabble away at your own pace and level whilst connecting with welcoming locals. The golf course at Araluen has a good restaurant and wonderful views.
From the Perth's foothills you have access to all that the hills have to offer; vineyards, orchards, wineries, a brewery, galleries, quirky little shops and great restaurants, not to mention charming views.
The historic town of Fremantle is an easy drive. Our last home swap guests loved Freo. There is something for everyone here. Art galleries, Aboriginal art galleries, unusual shops, a maritime museum, restaurants, the old Fremantle goal is popular as is the café strip.
The city of Perth (the most remote capital city in the world) is a 45 minute train ride away. Car swap is preferable to get the most out of Perth and WA. Drive "Down South" and visit the famous Margaret River surfing beaches, the tree-top walkway at Walpole and all the other typically West Australian tourist spots.
