What you will love about this home
We have a large, open plan home with a secluded south facing garden overlooking a field with a patio and pergola so it's great for sitting outside and enjoying the sun all day long throughout the year or sipping a drink whilst you watch a beautiful sunset over the trees.
Now that our adult children have moved away, we have a 5-bedroom house, of which 4 spacious double rooms are available for Home Exchange. One with a shower ensuite, one with a bath ensuite and two rooms sharing a family bathroom with bath and large shower.
Downstairs we have an open plan kitchen connected to a large garden room with glass doors which open fully so you really feel you are outside. The snug with smart TV (Sky, Prime Video) has a sliding dividing wall so you can be warm and cosy, with the real log fire, or be more open plan if you wish.
There is a driveway for parking two cars comfortably and plenty of off-street parking a few yards away.

What you will love about this neighborhood
Our house is 0.7 miles outside the small village of Otford. Nestled in the Darenth Valley, Otford is steeped in history going as far back as the Iron Age. The small Heritage Centre in the village is well worth a quick visit and shows you the Archbishop’s Palace, now a ruin, in it’s former glory.
We have golf courses nearby and walks on our doorstep, past bluebells, oast houses, lavender fields and farms. In the summer if you take a walk from the house, you can pause on your way to watch a game of cricket- maybe take a picnic.
Our neighbouring beautiful villages are Shoreham with it’s large white cross on the hill and it’s quirky World War II Museum and Eynsford with it’s old church, cosy pubs and vineyard.
But you are by no means in the middle of nowhere, less than 2 miles away are three large supermarkets and Sevenoaks town is just over 3.7 miles away with shops, lots of bars and restaurants, a theatre, a leisure centre with pool and a beautiful wildlife reserve. Bromley, 12 miles away or just over 20 minutes by train, has a shopping mall, theatre, cinema and plenty of pubs and eateries. Bluewater, the even larger Shopping Centre, is 20 minutes away by car.
London is 29 minutes away by train, with plenty of parking at Otford train station which is 1.1 miles away (20 minute walk from the house or 5 minutes by car). Having a car would be useful, however taxis are available from Sevenoaks 3.7 miles/10 minutes away. If you don't want to walk to Otford Station ( which does NOT have a taxi rank outside it) then you can always catch a cab from our home to the larger Sevenoaks Train Station, which has a taxi rank outside it, from where you can easily catch a cab home at the end of your evening. However if you want to spend most of your time visiting London, and you don't have a car/dont wan't to walk to Otford Station/don't want to use cabs to get to and from the train station, then you may prefer to find a location nearer to a train station.
We are surrounded by the beautiful Kent countryside, known as the "Garden of England" for its abundance of rolling fields, orchards, hop gardens and fruit growing.
There is lots to explore in Kent:- castles such as Leeds, Hever (home to Ann Boleyn) and Dover including the fascinating war rooms hidden within the white cliffs; stately homes like Ightham Moat or Chartwell (home to Winston Churchill) ; gardens like Riverhill Himalayan Gardens and Emmetts Garden, Knole House and park where you can walk or play golf amongst the deer; Lullingstone roman villa; Christmas Tree Farm with it's petting animals near Down House, the home of Charles Darwin, and even a motor racing circuit at Brands Hatch if that’s your thing.
You can go further afield for example to the coast at Brighton, Eastbourne which are around 50 miles away or the historic and beautiful towns of Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells where the fascinating Pantiles area is less than 45 minutes by train.

Additional information
Minimum stay 4 nights.
Cleaning fee of £90 to be left at the end of your stay.
We are 26 miles from Gatwick Airport and 47 miles from Heathrow Airport and have a great airport transfer taxi firm we can recommend to you if need one.
Having a car would be useful however taxis are available from Sevenoaks 3.7 miles/10 minutes away.
No pets, no smoking.
Our garden is not secure for pets or young children.
We have a travel cot with mattress and base sheet and a high chair suitable for children from 6 months to 3 years (max 15kg).
The house decor includes glass items and coffee tables with sharp corners, which would not be good for younger children on the move (or the nerves of the parents of younger children!)
There are no streetlights in Otford so at night you will need a torch/phone light. The advantage of no street light interference in the village is that it's great to see the stars from our back garden.
