What you will love about this home
**Please understand that San Diego is a high demand area - I do my best to accommodate as many requests as I can (last year I received 38 requests, accepted 8!) ...but I can only use so many exchanges or points in return. Our house is also a vacation rental, so holidays and summers are rarely available - dates are subject to availability. I have a professional cleaning staff to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for my guests. Please note that all exchanges requires a $180 cleaning fee, paid prior to arrival. We are currently trying to plan an extended trip to Italy/Southern France this Fall, so requests from the Mediterranean will receive higher priority.**
In typical beach style, my beach house feels larger than it is because of large windows and plenty of outdoor spaces, but it's not huge -- 1000ft2, or about 92m2. It's located just four blocks to the ocean (near Tourmaline Surf Park), eight blocks north of Crystal Pier in the north Pacific Beach area of San Diego, just a few blocks south of La Jolla, and one mile north of Mission Bay.
The floor plan is wonderful for families or two couples as the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house with the living/dining rooms and kitchen in the middle so everyone has some privacy. There is also a comfortable sofa bed in the living room if needed. The bedrooms are each "master bedrooms" with closets and en suite baths, one with a new stall shower and one with a traditional tub shower.
The front patio is completely fenced in with plenty of palms for shade and breezes off the ocean to relax you. I added a tankless water heater, so no running out of hot water. There is a fireplace in the living room and full-size washer and dryer in the garage (room to park one car), which is priceless in the summer time. The yard is completely fenced, with front and back patios, a bbq, firepit and umbrella, and plenty of sunshine all day. A gardener is included, and you're welcome to take from my small herb garden to complement your meals if you'd like.
The neighbors are wonderful -- it's an owner-occupied neighborhood, so it stays quiet and safe, and most of the neighbors have lived there for 10 years or more. There's a young family across the street, several retired couples nearby and a few middle-aged singles who still surf, roller blade and even skateboard (!), so the area appeals to everyone (i.e. NOT a college kid party area!).
I provide beach cruiser bikes, boogie boards, surfboards, wetsuits, bookshelves full of books and board games, and all the beach toys you need to enjoy the Southern California lifestyle. Beach towels and blankets are in the closet, the fire pit comes with a full propane tank for roasting marshmallows and propane in the grill for evening barbecues. The house also has SmarTVs in each room with streaming channels, wifi, and central air conditioning.
The house is within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops that make living at the beach fun. SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Gaslamp District, Convention Center and the airport are all within a 5 to 15 minute drive (or uber ride) from the house.
I grew up here and have another home, so if you need anything else to complete your California adventure, please don't hesitate to ask.

What you will love about this neighborhood
We grew up playing and surfing at the beach just at the end of the street so we know it well. With long, shallow waves, miles of boardwalk and a huge stretch of sandy beach, it's the perfect spot for any age to enjoy the best of San Diego.
The house is in an owner-occupied area of north Pacific Beach, bordering La Jolla. You get the best of both worlds -- close to all the action without the noise and crowds! Every morning we're there, I walk to a local boulangerie for fresh chocolate croissants that we enjoy back on our patio with our coffee and newspaper. Tuesday afternoon is for the Farmers Market, eight blocks away, for local fresh foods followed by Taco Tuesday at one of the many Mexican restaurants nearby. For dinner, you can walk two blocks to The Fishery for fresh seafood or bring something home to grill from their seafood bar. Or if you prefer, walk the other direction to Enoteca Adriano for Italian dishes that will make your mouth water and heart pound. Franco is a 5th generation Italian chef who has opened his third restaurant just two blocks from the house! Did we mention the boardwalk, the sand, the fishing pier, the sun and the surf??
All the 'toys' you need to enjoy Southern California's beach lifestyle are at the house for your pleasure. And everything you want to see in San Diego is no more than a 30 minute drive…with most of your daily activities being within walking distance.
