Description

What you will love about this home

Beautiful, peaceful home in historic medieval city of Kilkenny.

- Our spacious home, over 3,400 sq ft, is extremely quiet and it is located in a countryside setting but conveniently only 2 miles from the medieval castle in Kilkenny city.

- Our home has all the usual comforts and conveniences.

- We have 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms: Downstairs has the master bedroom which is a king bed with ensuite walk-in shower, 1 large queen bedroom and 1 single bedroom. The main bathroom is downstairs. Upstairs we have 1 queen bedroom, 1 smaller double bedroom, and twin beds in our study/office and a separate shower room.

- Downstairs we have a sun-lounge/conservatory, formal lounge with dining room and family tv room.

- New kitchen fitted with Neff appliances, quartz countertops and a separate utility room with washer and dryer machines.

- We have a large garden front and back (that will be cared for while you visit) and also a large patio with dining table, parasol and chairs and two Weber barbecues (gas and charcoal) for your use.

- We have multiple flatscreen tvs with satellite channels, AppleTV, Netflix, fiberoptic high-speed broadband and an iMac computer for your use.

- We are within easy distance of Mount Juliet Golf Resort (6 miles) and we are connected to the whole of Ireland by direct motorways (just off the M9).

- The car we offer for exchange is an automatic Mercedes CLK 200 or a BMW 2-series automatic drive with built in navigation and parking sensors.

- More photographs are also available if desired.

- Kilkenny is also connected by new motorways direct to Dublin and Dublin Airport (which takes about 1h20m) - it is fantastic for commuting and escaping to the rest of Ireland. Also, due to our easy distance to Dublin Airport, you can take very short and inexpensive flights, courtesy of low-cost carriers, to the likes of mainland Europe (Paris, Berlin, Vienna, London etc) if that is something you would enjoy. Of course Ireland has so much itself to offer.

What you will love about this neighborhood

- Kilkenny is an ancient medieval city, small in population (18,000) yet very well catered for in terms of shopping and entertainment. It is a very popular tourist destination and boasts one of the finest medieval castles in Ireland. Live music, comedy and theatre sessions in the city.

- Kilkenny is a foodie-destination boasting fine restaurants, cafes, pubs and also 2 Michelin Starred restaurants: Campagne in the city centre and the Lady Helen Restaurant at Mount Juliet.

- The countryside around us on the Bennettsbridge Road (R700) is pastoral, and within an easy drive of many historical attractions, Rock of Cashel, Kells, Jerpoint, Mount Juliet, Dunmore Caves, with the Waterford and Wexford coasts an hour away. Really attractive mountains and hillwalks - The Galtees, The Comeraghs and the Wicklows - are again but an hour distance. Dublin City is reached by 1h30 train from Kilkenny MacDonagh train station or a 1h15 easy drive by motorway.

- Kilkenny is constantly voted one of the best places to visit in Europe. It is one of Ireland's premier destinations and is also one of the culinary capitals of Ireland.

- The Lonely Planet states: "Kilkenny is the Ireland of many visitors' imaginations. Built from dark-grey limestone flecked with fossil seashells, Kilkenny (from the Gaelic 'Cill Chainnigh', meaning the Church of St Canice) is also known as 'the marble city'. Its picturesque 'Medieval Mile' of narrow lanes and historic buildings strung between castle and cathedral along the bank of the River Nore is one of the southeast's biggest tourist draws."

- The Japanese Association of Travel Agents (JATA) recently voted Kilkenny city the prettiest town in Europe to visit.

- Golf, horse-riding, tourist attractions and easy access to all locations.

• Horse-riding (1km)
• Hiking/walking
• Convenient shopping (2km)
• New large swimming pool and gym complex (the Watershed) (1km)
• Arts & Crafts trail (1km)
• Forest/Woods (7km)
