What you will love about this home

Please note: GUEST POINTS NOT POSSIBLE

Our home is a recently renovated (2024), simple and functional "Bauhaus" style city apartment in the very centre of Helsinki, just meters away from the small shops, restaurants and cafes. The sea shore is 5 minutes walk away. You can easily manage your exchange even without the car, if you prefer using public transport.

The apartment is 100 m2 and has one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a second bedroom with pull out bed for two. We love contemporary art and like to play around with furniture and interior, so there is always something new that make us smile every day! The renovation was designed by an architect and includes many interesting Bauhaus style details.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Imagine living like in a hotel in the city centre of Helsinki, but to have all the amenities of a home! We are only steps away from the main department store Stockman, railway station and Kamppi shopping centre and galleries. Our neighbouring park is an ancient cemetery where people nowadays enjoy their time on a sunny day. Twice a year there is a "Restaurant Day" where private people sell their home made food in the park and on other locations nearby. You have all the shops around you, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Helsinki has so many things to offer: go island hopping in Helsinki or Espoo archipelago, visit Suomenlinna fortress, or buy Finnish design glass from one of the many second hand shops.

If you want to explore further away, it is possible to take the ferry across to Stockholm, Sweden, and a fast ferry (2.5 hours) to Tallinn in Estonia. Daytrips from Helsinki include Porvoo, a picturesque small village within a boat trip (or car drive). My personal number one destination during the summer is Fiskars, a nice little artist village with good restaurants, interesting exhibitions and galleries. Our guests have also enjoyed the archipelago in western parts of Finland, especially Tammisaari, Hanko and Nauvo.
