What you will love about this home

Our house is located in Albany on Western Australia's beautiful southern coast where beaches are white and the waters are clear.
The house is a cosy 60's built 3 x 1 brick veneer house and the perfect location for a beach holiday. It is furnished to provide a very comfortable holiday experience for up to 8 people. Bedding configuration is 1 x king, 1 x queen and 2 x single beds, plus 2 x trundle beds. Our house is "old school" with jarrah floors and high ceilings. The living area has a large Daikin reverse cycle air conditioner, a gas heater and a wall mounted 48 inch tv. There is a working fireplace, but we do not provide wood. The dvd sound system has bluetooth capability so you can play music and videos from your portable devices. Complimentary fast wireless internet is provided as well as a phone for local calls. There is another flat screen TV/DVD player in the kids' room. The separate dining area can seat eight. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm and to serve up your creations in style. There is a gas stove, microwave. large fridge, a pod coffee machine. The bathroom has a bath and shower; the WC is separate. In the laundry there is a top loader washing machine and trough, a dryer is situated in the sunroom. The back deck and sunroom provide excellent places to relax and take in views of the ocean, lake and islands. On the deck there is a BQQ and al fresco table and chairs. All bed linen, bath towels and kitchen towels are provided. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
The large backyard is a great space for the kids, two legged and four legged, to expend energy, and is safely fenced with 1.8m colourbond fence and 1.2m high farm gate at the side. Our house is fur friendly so your best mate can have a holiday too. We do ask that you keep them off the furniture and that they are flea treated. Please don't leave them unattended in the main part of the house.
Our house is perfectly located to explore everything Albany and the Great Southern has to offer.
We do not allow smoking inside the house.
Please note that we do rent this house out for holiday accommodation and it is quite popular. If you are interested in using our house, please give us as much notice as you possibly can to increase thechance of it being available for you.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Albany is a well regarded destination for surfing, fishing and diving; in fact all beach related activities. The impressive National ANZAC centre is close by and well worth an extended visit. In spring (late August - early December) the famous Western Australian wild flowers explode. Rewarding walks can be had in the nearby bush reserves and along walking trails. From June to September the whale migration brings Humpback and Southern Rights past our doorstep and often mothers and calves rest up close to shore at local beaches. The Great Southern region has two distinctive cool climate wine regions within 30 minutes drive. The Stirling Range National Park is a World Heritage listed biodiversity hot spot and a beautiful destination for bushwalks of varying intensity. Occasionally snow falls on Bluff Knoll and the astounding beauty is worth the chilly walk. It is little over an hour from Albany.
In town, you are 10 minutes walk from the white sands and clear, blue waters of the Middelton Beach. Also with in easy walking distance is an small shopping precinct with cafes, restaurants, gift shop and beauty services. Next door to the house is a comfort food diner speacialising in local fish and turning fabulous Great southern produce into delicious comfort food.
The main town centre is a 20-30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive and has everything you could possibly need to maximise your tourist stay or your get-away.

Additional information

Albany does not have a reliable public transport system and a car is essential. There is no land between Albany and Antarctica. As such, the weather can be very variable. It is advisable to pack layers what ever the season you plan to visit.
