What you will love about this home
Hello..Brian and Evelyn here...we are retired and planning to travel more. Here's what we love about our home and love to share with you.. it's light filled, leafy, low clutter living, surrounded by green hills, trees and owls. It's a quiet rural sanctuary, only 20 mins from the traditional seaside town Newcastle, with great walking in the Mourne Mountains, tracks and trails in several nearby forest parks, on the sandy beach and beautiful promenade, with the mountains towering over. Straight from our door you can walk along quiet rural roads and tracks, with beautiful views.
Our home is a very comfortable and spacious house with 6 bedrooms, 7 double beds, 1 travel cot, a 'farmhouse vibe' and a big kitchen table to gather everyone around.
The house is set in a large secluded south facing garden, surrounded by trees, fields and green hills with views of the Mourne Mountains. There are several sunny corners to sit and a sundowner seat for two, under an old tree.
Our home is perfect for a multi generational group with:
* 1 downstairs bedroom, king bed, separate toilet and separate shower
* travel cot, high chair, play den, toys, books and board games, totally enclosed gardens with front electric gate.
* 7 TVs including 3 HD flat screens with satellite in living areas
* large enclosed private sheltered south sunny gardens, BBQ and furnished patio (summer)
*6 bedrooms with 7 comfortable beds:1 Superking (180cm), 2 Kings (150cm) and 4 (120cm) doubles.
The 'play den' bedroom, with 2 double beds, is accessed through another bedroom.
*4 bathroom areas.
Upstairs: 1 large bathroom with bath, shower, toilet, sink.
1 ensuite attached to the main bedroom with bath, shower over bath, toilet and sink.
Downstairs: 1 separate toilet and sink.
1 power shower in the laundry room, with washing machine.
Outside washing line, no dryer.
*6 workstations:desk/dressing tables
*plenty of lamps and lights for functional and feature lighting
*sunny south sunroom with wood stove, kindling and basket of logs supplied; surrounding trees are feature lit at night.
*traditional living room with large window seat and seats for everyone to be together
*TV room with 52" TV with satellite.
*Oil fired central heating/hot water is scheduled on each morning and then you control for your comfort
Our home is a real sanctuary to return to relax and recharge after a great day out. You can explore all of Northern Ireland as it's all within 120 mins drive.

What you will love about this neighborhood
We live in a very beautiful rural area in Northern Ireland, 45 mins south of Belfast, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with views of the Mourne mountains from our home.
With a car you can enjoy the whole of Northern Ireland, everything is less than an 120 mins away, including the Giant's Causeway on the North coast and Dublin to the south.
The closest town is 15 mins away: Castlewellan with Indian, Italian, Chinese takeaways, fine dining in Hillyard House and casual pub dining.
Castlewellan forest park has lakes, bike tracks, walking trails, a very large maze, hire of outdoor equipment/bikes and guided outdoor activities.
We are closest to the East coast with Newcastle, 20 mins away. It's a small traditional seaside town with a little harbour, beautiful promenade, a great range of eateries, where the Mourne mountains and forests roll down to the sea.
I'm a retired catering and tourism tutor and can advise on all our beautiful and best 'must see/do' fun and foodie places. My husband is retired from outdoor education and can advise on tracks and trails for all abilities.
This is our primary home, which we have also listed on Airbnb, as now we plan to travel a lot more. I have an extensive online Airbnb guide for food, fun, must see/do places, found below my location map at 'Show more', which is worth checking.

The 'hard copy' guest guide, in my home, lists these places together in order of 15,30,45,60 minutes away to make it easy to maximise all your best days out.
Our home has been inspected and certified by the Tourist Board for quality and safety.
I hope you chose to visit our little piece of Irish heaven!
