What you will love about this home

Our home always sparks a ‘wow’ moment for those who come through our front door for the first time. The architect tucked the house at the end of a road in a quiet neighborhood. Yet, when you enter the front door, you’re met with a breath of light and spaciousness which opens up to a large and flourishing garden.

In our garden you’ll find a century old pear tree, 3 apple trees, a plum tree, raspberries, rhubarb, strawberries, red and black currants, amongst a variety of flower beds and grassy areas. Our outdoor area includes 3 terraces so you can follow the sun from early in the morning to late afternoon/evening. We often meet deer in our garden, and if you’re lucky you may even bump into a fox or a moose!

We have a large parking lot at the front of the house. The outdoor areas of the elementary school and kindergarten next to the house offer free access to a football field, a basketball court, table tennis tables and a zipline (outside of school hours).

The house has 3 half floors. On the bottom floor you will find a newly renovated bathroom, 2 bedrooms, and a tv/guest room with a foldout sofa that sleeps two adults. Our boys’ bedrooms are filled with games, lego’s and other toys that will keep any child occupied for hours. You enter the house on the 2nd floor where you will find a large entrance area that also serves as our work from home office, as well as the newly renovated master bedroom and ensuite bathroom and a large storage/training room. Upstairs is our spacious dining and living room with a cosy fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen.

What you will love about this neighborhood

We live at walking distance from Sandvika, a middle-sized town by the Oslo fjord, West of Oslo. Sandvika offers to all kinds of shopping, theatres, a cinema, restaurants and bars, and the beach. Vestmarka is a large forest area that stretches out just North of Sandvika for all outdoor activities. The cliffs of Kolsåstoppen and Skaugumsåsen are also popular hiking and climbing destinations.

Our house is 1 km from Sandvika station where you can take the train (or bus) to the heart of Oslo in just 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can explore the towns of Asker and Drammen to the West of Sandvika. Sandvika also lies on the intersection of highway E16 and E8, gateway to the Western and Northern parts of Norway.

The Sandvika beach and islands are at walking distance from our home.

Additional information

We have both an gas-fired outdoor barbecue and an open-air campfire pan (Bålpanne) ready for you to use in summer and winter.

Pending on whether we take them with us for our own holiday, we have 2 mountain bikes for adults and 2 junior bikes ready to explore the area.

Great if you can help take care of the garden and plants inside during your stay.

Please follow the Scandinavian tradition of taking off your shoes when you are inside. We are non-smokers and don’t allow smoking of any kind inside.
