What you will love about this home
Our cozy, family home is located on half an acre of land in the Cowichan Valley with beautiful lake and mountain views from our patio. You can have a BBQ, eat a meal or read a book in our hammock with stunning scenery as a backdrop. Our backyard is fenced and has a trampoline, comfortable seating, blueberry bushes, pear trees and a plum tree. You are welcome to help yourself to anything that you might find ripe and in season. Our home is family friendly and children will find plenty of toys and an indoor jungle gym to play on. We have a large TV with Netflix, Disney Plus and all the usual TV apps. We are within a short drive of quaint sea side towns, epic hiking trails and world-class mountain biking options.
What you will love about this neighborhood
We are on a quiet street in a semi-rural area with lovely, friendly neighbours. The closest town is Duncan, which is about an hour north of British Columbia's capital city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island has been ranked as North America's top island to visit and sits off the south-west coast of the Canadian mainland.
Duncan is a small and very sweet town and has the cultural honour of being the City of Totems. Duncan's year-round Saturday market has been voted best market in British Columbia. It sells local organic produce and hand-made crafts. We're also proud of the many fine wineries, cafes and restaurants in our beautiful Valley. There is so much to do!
From the end of June to the beginning of August, there is a free music festival in town called "39 Days of July" where you can catch some excellent local and international talent. Check out the website from last year for an idea of what you might expect: www.39daysofjuly.ca
About 15 minutes north of us is Chemainus, well known for its 55+ murals that adorn the town and for its world-class Chemainus Theatre: www.chemainustheatrefestival.ca
Ten minutes south of us is the unique and historic waterfront community of Cowichan Bay, which was the first town in North America to be declared a "slow food" or "citta slow" community. No fast food allowed! www.cowichanbay.com
Close by is also the historic Kinsol Trestle - one of the tallest free-standing and most spectacular timber rail trestles in the world. More information and photos here:

Day trips can easily be made to the many Gulf Islands that lie between us and the mainland as well as the American San Juan Islands. All these islands are vibrant, laid-back and funky.
