What you will love about this home
Welcome to our charming home in the heart of the stunning Cowichan Valley! Nestled in one of the most picturesque regions of British Columbia, our home comfortably sleeps 6 guests.
Step inside and you'll be greeted by a collection of beautiful original artwork that adorns the walls, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the house. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, blending modern comforts with a touch of artistic flair. There's even a few statues in the garden!
We have every convenience, from two and a half bathrooms, to high speed internet.
One of the bedrooms (with ensuite bathroom) is downstairs, making our home perfect for a guest with mobility issues. We have a large office with desks, printer etc, so our home would be ideal for digital nomads.
All 3 of our beds have exceptionally comfortable mattresses and two are queen size, while the third is a double.
Our kitchen is VERY well equipped as Derek, my hubby, is an excellent chef!
We have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Britbox streaming services.
Our outdoor space, although small, is lush, and flower-laden, with colorful, peaceful areas for relaxation. We have a top-notch gas barbeque for convenient outside eating during the summer.

What you will love about this neighborhood
Located in the heart of the Cowichan Valley, you're just a short drive away from stunning lakes, mountain trails, and outdoor adventures. Whether you enjoy hiking, cycling, or simply exploring the breathtaking scenery, this area has something for everyone. If you like busy spots, go to Cowichan Lake (20 minutes away) to swim and tube with many other tourists.
Want somewhere quieter? Visit vast Rathtrevor Beach. This world-class beach is so huge that even at the height of summer you can find peace. Stunning natural features? We have plenty. Explore the fascinating tidepools at Botanical Beach or stare at the waterfalls at Englishman River Falls.
If you are an animal lover, consider a whale watching expedition. Most of the companies are skilled at taking you to places on the ocean where you will see not only whales, but seals and sea lions too. A birds of prey center is 15 minutes away. Delight to the displays of hunting hawks, ravens and eagles. A wildlife sanctuary up island contains many delights, such as a white raven. (Strange, but true!) There is even wildlife in our neighborhood sometimes. You might see a deer, or our local white peacock! We get a variety of birds visiting our back yard and there is a photo of one of our favorite visitors included.
If you want to walk into our local town, Duncan, it is just a 15 minute walk. There you can find coffee shops, (both independent and chain shops), a couple of pubs, four supermarkets, and lots of small boutiques. In addition, Duncan has the largest outdoor collection of totem poles in the world, making it a truly unique place to visit. The town of Chemainus, 20 minute drive away, has 80 outdoor murals!
The valley is also famous for its vibrant local culture, including artisanal wineries, craft breweries, and farm-to-table dining experiences. Spend your days discovering charming villages, like Ladysmith, Shawnigan Lake and Cowichan Bay, indulging in fresh local produce, or simply soaking in the peaceful ambiance that surrounds you.
If you are a music lover, there are a number of outdoor concerts to enjoy during the summer. In Duncan, the longest music festival in Canada lasts 39 consecutive days and is called 'The 39 Days of July.' The best Saturday market in the central part of the island is also in Duncan.
We are equidistant from Victoria and Nanaimo and their convenient ferry and airport links. Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is an hour away; an extremely scenic, sea-hugging route, the Malahat provides a beautiful journey. Venture up the Malahat Experience, a wonderful ocean tower, and see views over as far as Washington state!
If you want to visit cosmopolitan Vancouver, there are 3 different ferries that will get you there and back within one day. You might even see some whales on the way!
