What you will love about this home

Our cabin is our home away from home. It's a modified A-Frame or gambrel (looks similar to the shape of a barn). It is cozy during the winter months with lots of blankets and a gas fireplace in the main living room as well as a smaller gas fireplace in the master suite. In the warmer months, there is a front deck or larger side deck to sit and listen to the birds, watch neighbors bike up the street to the trails or to bbq dinner. The master suite is upstairs along with a small loft that has a futon. Downstairs are the two other bedrooms with a bathroom. The home was remodeled in 2020 and is our "happy place."

What you will love about this neighborhood

The house is located in a residential neighborhood in Carnelian Bay, CA, with most of the neighbors being full time residents. There are hiking and mountain biking trails (for all levels) just a few hundred yards away, as well as a paved bike/walking/jogging path that will take you all the way into town (there is a sizable hill to climb on your way back). The lake is also within biking distance on this trail, or just a short drive away.

Because our home is in a residential neighborhood, we ask that you be respectful of our amazing neighbors. Please no parties, no smoking, no pets, no heavy trucks or machinery of any kind. Quiet hours are between 9:00 pm - 6:00 am, and this includes the use of outside lights (those attached to the home are OK).

Additional information

There are many world class ski resorts within driving distance (approximately 15 miles away). Palisades and NorthStar are the closest. There are also many ski resorts in South Lake Tahoe (approximately 40 miles - but will take at least an hour to get there). Plenty of biking trails along the lake, great restaurants in Tahoe City and Kings Beach. You can float or river raft down the Truckee River (casual rafting). Plenty of parks for kids to enjoy.

The closest airport is the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. It is about an hour drive (55 miles) door to door. The Sacramento International Airport is also an option, but is 125 miles away.

We have a driveway snow removal service in the winter, but do not have a snow removal for the decks to the front door (there are snow shovels available to use).

There is a $150 USD cleaning fee that can be paid via Venmo, PayPal or Zelle prior to your stay.
