What you will love about this neighborhood

This centrally located area of Vermont is known as the Mad River Valley because the Mad River winds its way through the entire mountain valley on the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest. The MRV is a very special place with SO much to do any season of the year!
There are swimming holes to explore, and hiking trails to conquer, and mountain biking adventures to tackle! The Fall Foliage spectacle is amazing for "leaf peepers", but there is also apple picking, and cider mills to explore in the fall! Vermont, the Green Mountain State, has the highest number of craft breweries per capita according to the US Brewers Association, so beer lovers will enjoy exploring and tasting all that the state has to offer!
The Mad River Valley is a winter wonderland for skiers, snowboarders, and snowshoers alike! Our condo sits just three short miles from Sugarbush Ski Resort's Lincoln Peak base and about 5 miles from the "sister mountain" of Mt. Ellen. The convenient ski area shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off at the end of the Christmas Tree driveway.
The iconic Mad River Glen ski cooperative is a 15 minute drive away. It boasts the only remaining single chair lift in the US, and is a "must ski" for those wanting the quintessential New England ski experience. "Ski it if you can"! is their slogan.
Spend Summer days hiking, mountain biking, or playing in one of the Mad River's idyllic swimming holes. The town of Warren, Vermont's annual Fourth of July Parade (just 3 miles down the road) followed by a fantastic fireworks show at The Sugarbush Resort is a wonderful way to spend the Independence Day holiday! Weekends in the Summertime include the local Waitsfield Farmer's Market every Saturday, or berry picking (blueberries or strawberries) at one of the local farms.
Montpelier, the capitol of Vermont, boasts a beautiful gold-domed capitol building as well as a bustling downtown area with many cute shops and restaurants. It is about a 30 minute drive to the east/northeast.
A trip into Burlington, Vermont (about an hour's drive north/northwest) can find you sailing on Lake Champlain for a sunset dinner boat ride, or shopping on Church Street followed by a visit to one of the fabulous breweries.
There are historical places like Shelburne Inn and Farms, or Hildene (the Lincoln family home and gardens), or the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical site for history buffs looking for a spot. Robert Frost's Bread Loaf school is found just over the mountain in Ripton, and you can stop along the way (route 125) to check out Texas Falls!
Vermont is beautiful, but The Mad River Valley - where our little condo is located - is the perfect central location from which to explore all that this magical state has to offer!
