What you will love about this home
We welcome you to our grand Victorian three-storey house built in 1870 in central Buxton a market town in the heart of the beautiful Peak District and 1 hour from Manchester.
.
The house has four spacious bedrooms and two family-sized bathrooms both with showers and large baths spread over two floor, in addition to main living areas on the ground floor. The bright living spaces combine period features with modern architecture.
We usually host a maximum if 6 guests at the house as the shared spaces on the ground floor comfortably accommodate this number.
Ground floor: downstairs living room with wood-burning stove, smart TV with Amazon Prime opens out onto dining & sun-room areas with a modern kitchen (including induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer). There a single downstairs toilet. The sun-room opens out onto the small fully enclosed back garden (large enough for table and chairs) which wraps around the back of the house, with a separate well lit access via a gate onto the outside footpath running alongside the house.
1st floor: master king bedroom and superking room ( can be split into 2 singles) with a large bathroom
2nd floor: king and double rooms with a large bathroom (nearest to the king bedroom) & separate sitting/TV/library area. The sofa in the lounge can be made into a sofabed.
There's a parking space on the drive (more suited to standard sized vehicles, it is on a slope, suitable for more confident parkers only) and free parking in front of the house and on the adjoining roads.
Everything in Buxton is in easy walking distance- with public transport around the local towns, sites and villages and to Manchester.
The front garden looks out onto Buxton and in the winter you can see across to the hills.
From an allergy perspective we have cats and dogs to stay at the house (they love the underfloor heating on the ground floor!) as well as wool & feather bedding. Pets are most welcome, no pet sitting required.

Additional information
Please do get in touch before booking if you think access may be more challenging and we can give more information & to ensure you're able to exit the house safely in case of fire. There are 3 high steps to access the front door, stairs to the top floor are also a little steeper and the drive is on an incline.
We generally advise that children are used to living in a house with lots of stairs or need to be of an age when they're aware of stairs in order to safely stay in the house: there are several stair cases in different rooms in the house and the ones between floors are long/high and sadly poorly suited to stair gates.
Our cat can travel with us & wouldn't be at the house when you stay.
The house does tend to busy at the most popular times - UK bank holidays, UK state school holidays.
For non-reciprocal swaps we ask £35 per bedroom for use of bed linen (cotton), towels (organic cotton) & professional cleaning & £20 cleaning fee for pets
