What you will love about this home
We are a semi-retired professional couple and we are interested in a reciprocal exchange of approximately 6 months from November 2024-May 2025 in Sydney, Australia. Flexible with dates. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and can provide more photographs and more information on Victoria, Vancouver Island and British Columbia. We are looking for a house in Sydney close to public transport - suburbs we are familiar with are Balmain, Balmain East, Pyrmont, Manly, Hunters Hill, Balmoral Beach, Watsons Bay, Rose Bay but we would be interested in any suburb with good public transport. We do not have pets nor are we smokers.
The house is located in Oak Bay in the city of Victoria BC on a slope overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains of the USA. It is a renovated old house with some of the original features - wooden floors and a double sided fireplace. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated in the mid 2000s and a new balcony and deck installed across the back of the house to expand the view. A hot tub was installed on the lower level deck at the same time and a new laundry was installed in 2023. The house is on a quiet dead end street. We are currently (March to June 2024) renovating our bedrooms and attic and having a new roof installed. More up to date photographs will be added when the work is finished.

What you will love about this neighborhood
We are within 10 minutes drive of downtown Victoria and its beautiful harbour and approximately 6 minutes drive (25 minutes walk) from our local Oak Bay Village. There is a bus transit system which runs into the city and to the University from the street below us. We have good access to several large supermarkets, local shops and cafes. Victoria has many restaurants and pubs to choose from. We are approximately 40 minutes drive from the Victoria Airport and in the same direction about 45 minutes to the ferry terminal for ferries to Vancouver and local islands.
