What you will love about this home

Our home buffers an expansive forest park overlooking the west coast beach of Karekare. There are many trails throughout the 25,000 acre park and a coastline of pristine, black sand beaches.
We have an extensive NZ art collection, a small swimming pool and outside bath. 3 bedrooms with queen size beds all with views of the ocean. A fully equipped, newly installed kitchen, large sun deck and a courtyard with open fire cooking and gas bbq facilities. A large, burgeoning vegetable garden full of fresh produce, herbs, vegetables and flowers for picking and a purpose built iyengar yoga wall.
As a lover of the outdoors there is much to discover - hiking, swimming, fishing & surfing. In the winter you can enjoy sitting by an open fire, flicking thru books from our extensive collection or soaking in a hot bath after a windswept beach walk.

What you will love about this neighborhood

The house is situated in a coastal village on the west coast of New Zealand's north island and is approximately 50 mins drive to the centre of Auckland city. We live in an area that buffers the Waitakere Regional Park, the area has minimum property sizes of 10 acres, so neighbours are distant. The community is fabulous, so many lovely people live in our village with interesting lives, most people embrace the outdoors and love the parkland and beaches, its generally what brought them to the area in the first place.

Additional information

Our house is a 10 minute drive from the main road, there is never any traffic noise only the ocean, the road is winding and narrow. The nearest store where you can buy reasonable priced food is about 25 minutes drive thru the park and into the nearest town. The neighbouring beach, Piha, is about a 10 minute drive and there you'll find a well stocked store, a library, yoga school and a number of eateries as well as another fabulous beach. The store sells great coffee and picnic food.
