What you will love about this home

On a scenic property we call Atlas Ranch, this rustic 1954 cabin, has been newly renovated with focus on keeping it's 1950's homestyle charm intact. 5 minutes from downtown JT and 12 minutes from JT National Park, the cabin offers privacy and proximity to both town and park living. The Cabin at Atlas Ranch is made with much love, and is perfect place to smooth your feathers, get away from ordinary life, and come home to yourself. Enjoy!

The space
+ Only 5 minutes from Downtown Joshua Tree and 12 minutes from Joshua
Tree National Park.

+ Covered back porch with misting system, so you can stay cool in the heat!

+ Fully stocked kitchen, easy to navigate!

+ High speed Wifi

+ Hi Definition Art TV with Netflix, Prime, Hulu, et al.

+ Large Outdoor Soaking Tub- perfect for soothing your muscles after a long
day in the park! A wonderful experience to soak while gazing at the beautiful
stars at night.

+ Sleeping Options - A queen bed in the master with a wonderful foam
mattress, and we have a super comfy 6 foot couch in the living room as well.

+ Enjoy the library! There are many books lining the walls in different areas. The
collection consists mostly of art, healing, humanities, classic literature, and
travel. It is meant to help us get in the creative pocket while we work, or to
sooth our hearts and give us tools for living if we are on a more healing and
heart centered retreat.

+ Rustic front and back porch, very private with sprawling vistas, perfect for
breakfast in the morning (weather permitting) and lounging throughout the
day.

+ Three hammocks on the property, as well as countless other areas to sit,
recline, swing, or be still.

+ Explore the rock lined trails meandering their way around the ranch
behind the cabin. You can walk over a mile on them without ever leaving the
property!

+ A fantastic place to hunker down and focus on work or a project. There is a
large desk/study area in the bedroom that is designed just for this. We come
here to work often, and our wifi is very friendly for zoom meetings.

+ We have many plants here btw- most places don’t have plants everywhere
like this but we love our green friends. They add such a healing and soothing
element to the space. Additionally we like to propagate plants and let you
take one home if you notice one has developed a mature enough root
system. Our way of being green. :)

+ Nestled in a particularly quiet and scenic area of Joshua Tree among the
desert mountains with with vast, incredible views. Not many people know
about this area.

+ Enjoy the bountiful wildlife here! Coyotes, jackrabbits, bunnies, roadrunners,
quail, white iguanas, and if you get lucky you may even spot a desert tortoise!
A couple times a day you can hear the coyotes calling to each other in
chorus- very powerful!

+ The Cabin was built in 1954 and has been tastefully restored, keeping it’s old,
homestyle charm completely in tact, but now with modern conveniences.
Driving up to the little blue cabin, it feels a little like stepping into an Old
Americana time capsule. The covered front and back porches have ample
seating and vast desert vistas to gaze upon for hours. This is where we come
to cleanse, sleep, meditate, research, do yoga, turn inward and replenish.

+ The space is designed to be romantic, poetic, earthy yet mystical, and
thought provoking. A perfect place for a solo, or couples desert retreat.

+ We do not allow animals unfortunately. The owner is highly allergic, asthmatic, and has been hospitalized several times with asthma. As much as we love animals, we can't risk having them at our home. Thank you for understanding.

+ The Cabin at Atlas Ranch sits upon 10 acres and has one other listing on it,
The Seven Sisters. The two structures sit about 300 feet apart and have a
fence between them, maintaining the feeling of privacy. Unless you book both The Seven Sisters AND the cabin, please stick to your side of the fence. If it's clear that nobody is at The Seven Sisters, you can talk to me about it and confirm, in which case it's fine if you'd like to stroll the full ten acres.

The Cabin at Atlas Ranch was made for you with love, and we hope you leave here feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and filled with peace!

Other things to note
-

Guests Staying By The Week-

We have many plants on the premises that need water 1-2x per week depending on the time of year. Either we will need to work out a watering schedule by you or, if you aren’t comfortable caring for the plants, we will need to schedule time to come care for them. Thank You!

*Note - we have to hire our housekeeper to clean after each guest for consistency which we will ask you to please cover in advance. The cleaning fee is $150 which goes entirely to the housekeeper. Very grateful.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Windy Gap is a very secluded neighborhood about five minutes from Downtown Joshua Tree, California. In fact, it's so secluded, many locals don't even know about it! It is tucked away in an incredibly scenic area sprawled over rolling hills and surrounded by desert mountains. Every which way you look at here seems to have it's own magical vista!

Being so secluded, those in Windy Gap are particularly careful to obey local light and noise ordinances. This is why visiting Atlas Ranch is so wonderful for couples and solo trips, healing retreats, and focus time on a work or creative project. It, however, is not the place to host a party. That can be done in any city environment; particularly this part of the desert is for people who would like to feel quiet and removed.

Love to all!

Additional information

If you are here for more than a few days, we will ask if you can please just make sure the plants have enough water.

We ask for a $150 cleaning fee either via cash or venmo. Thank you!

This is a non-smoking home, though it's fine if you'd like to smoke outside. Just please use the ashtrays and leave no trace of ash and butts around the property.

This area has noise and light ordinances, please keep music and voices down after 9pm (sound travels in the desert), and please turn off any outdoor lighting before you go to bed. Many people come to the area to stargaze and any light pollution takes away from the fun. The solar lamps around the grounds are not an issue and will go out on their own after a few hours.

We do have outdoor security cameras on the premises. One at the front doorbell, one overlooking the driveway, and one at the top of the hill at the very back of the property overlooking a dangerous part of the road in case we need to communicate with anyone who may get stuck in the road.

Other than that just please treat our home with love and consideration.

Thank you!
