What you will love about this home
I love living here in my quiet and spacious one-bedroom, ground floor flat with my treasured 9-year-old rescue calico cat, Mavis. Though I live alone, my place sleeps 4 ‘officially’…with a sofa bed and an abundance of large sofas (far too many for one!) I have shared access to a spacious enclosed garden, and a personal patio area with outdoor seating. My landlords live in the property above — they are church friends and are incredibly lovely and always willing to help. As a full-time remote worker, I spend a lot of time here, and have tried to make it as comfortable, functional and welcoming as possible. It is not plush, luxury or fancy…but it’s my home, and Mavis’, too.
What you will love about this neighborhood
Cheltenham offers you the best of town and country. Itself is a beautiful spa town — and the perfect location from which to explore many top UK spots. Within minutes, you can be in the picturesque Cotswolds, and it’s just an hour’s drive to Oxford, Bath or Bristol, and two hours to London. There’s also a direct train to Birmingham, Nottingham and “The North”. However, there is plenty of local shopping, walking and sightseeing to be done by just walking out of the front door! Located between Naunton and Leckhampton, my flat is just a 20-minute walk from Cheltenham town centre, and a stones throw from the independent shops, range of eateries and amenities on the Bath Road. Cheltenham is also known for its international horse racing and vibrant annual science and literature festivals.
Additional information
The most important thing you can do when staying in my home, aside from relaxing and enjoying yourself as much as possible, is keeping Mavis safe, fed and happy. I want to be able to go away knowing that she can be taken care of in in her own home where she feels most comfortable.
Due to this being my primary residence and working from home, I am only able to offer reciprocal exchanges or GP exchanges when I am away. The second double sofa bed is in the main lounge/diner, which is also my workspace.
