What you will love about this home
Our home is cozy, comfortable, and functional. It is 1/2 of a side-by-side duplex with great neighbors. The location (described below) is what makes it great! it's got 3 bedrooms (2 have queen beds, 1 has a kid trundle bed), 3 bathrooms, finished basement playspace, a nice kitchen with all the essentials. Great covered back porch. Lots of kids toys. Piano and some guitars are available. We're eco-minded (solar/heatpumps etc). Level 2 electric car charging. Yard with a hammock and grill.
What you will love about this neighborhood
Well located, our home is in Newton, a small city adjacent to Boston. We are a 6 minute walk from a great pub, cinema, and a bunch of restaurants/bars (West Newton Square) . It's a 4 minute drive (25 min walk) to Moody Street in Waltham which is loaded with dozens of restaurants/bars/shopping, and 12-15 minute drive to Copley Square in downtown Boston. 2 minute walk to a little nature area with ponds and boardwalk trail, 1 mile from a larger nature area (The Cove) along the Charles River great for walking and running.
Some of our favorite places 20-30 min away are Castle Island (you can drive to it), Revere beach, Constitution Beach, Blue Hills nature area, Boston Common (gardens, spray park, swan boats), Seaport district (trendy restaurants on waterfront), Tallship Boston (fun bar on a historic boat!), and the North End (boston's historic Italian neighborhood), Fenway Park, Museum of Fine Arts...the list goes on!
Within 1.5 hours you can be in Cape Cod, Mt Monadnock in New Hampshire, the Berkshires, the Maine coast...it's very central.
There is public transit by our house including an infrequent commuter rail (8 min walk) or more frequent bus (2 min walk).
