What you will love about this home
The Watermill dates from 1845, was the last working Watermill in Wales and is now our beautiful boutique home, we are nestled beside a small river just 15 mins from the Historic City of Chester and 10 mins from Wrexham AFC now Disney+ famed ground. Whether you love to close the doors on the world and cozy up by the lounge log burner / terrace fire pits or explore Chester & the Castles / Mountains of North Wales the Watermill will work for you.
Our location is just 40mins from Manchester Airport whilst giving you access in just 20mins to all the amenities of the Historic Tourist City Chester or the peace and tranquility of our local country parks. For the restless amongst your group an abundance of day trips and outdoor experiences are available from Mountain Biking (10mins), Steam Railways & White Water Rafting (30mins) or the World Heritage Sites, Mountains, Castles and Coast of the Snowdonia National Park (40mins).
The Watermills Interiors are designed to help you relax and unwind across three floors of riverside luxury.
Middle Floor
The log Burner Lounge - Hug a coffee cup and watch the Dippers fishing from your riverside window seat while the logs crackle in the glass sided log burner.
Bespoke Kitchen - A wall of sliding glass brings the garden into your kitchen. Dine inside or outside under the canopy at a table for 10, or sit at the wide breakfast bar and just enjoy the view. Your kitchen is fully equipped and includes Neff double oven, hob, coffee machine, large American fridge freezer, dishwasher and for summer nights and terrace BBQ / Log Burner.
The Reading Room - Floor to ceiling glass windows and two sofas with a view of the river make this reading room a great place to unwind. Curl up with a book or just snooze and watch the water glide by.
The 'Potting Shed' Conservatory - Relax in your inside garden, enjoying the garden whatever the weather.
The Grand Hall Way - Linking the whole house through a 3 storey galleried staircase, this is a great space to keep an eye out for your guests arrival, over looking the waterwheels in the window seat. Great parties start with a drinks reception in this wonderful space.
Lower Floor
The Cinema - Descend the spiral staircase then bring the whole house together on the huge sofa to enjoy a movie or box set. Connect to the Apple TV to access your Netflix, Prime and Apple accounts. The Juke Box and Karaoke Machine will definitely keep your music lovers busy.
The Games Room - Set the high score on an original Indiana Jones Pinball Machine this and the Football Table will keep guests well away from their usual digital world.
Laundry - Complete with Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Drying Room, Iron, Ironing Board and sink to accommodate all your guests needs.
Suite 1 - Luxurious King Suite sleeps 2 (+1) its waterwheel ensuite includes a slipper bath, rain shower and walk-in wardrobe. king bed, sofa, smart TV, plantation shutters and access to garden.
First Floor
Suite 2 - Beautiful loft style master suite sleeps 2(+1) with king bed, rain shower ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, Sofa, plantation shutters, smart TV and garden views.
Triple Bedroom - Large loft style room sleeping 3(+1) in double and single beds with lovely riverside views, plantation shutters, TV and close access to the spa bath bathroom.
King Bedroom - Cozy King room with exposed beams, smart TV and a Velux window which when opened will have your drifting off to the sounds of the river.
Single Bedroom - Super cozy single with Velux window and close access to the spa bathroom.
Luxury Bathroom - Relax in your spa bath to the sounds of the river passing by or take an invigorating Rain Shower.
The Watermill can be filled with music through the Sonus & B&O sound systems and the kitchen has an IMac computer for searching the web.
Outside
The beautiful riverside setting of the Watermill with its numerous areas to relax and socialise, will have you questioning your plans for day trips out.
Kitchen Sun Terrace - Fold back the glass wall and the south facing sun terrace with BBQ/Log Burner becomes an extension of the kitchen, a fantastic alfresco dining or social space overlooking the garden, river and mill pond.
Pondside Deck - Take a perch on the pond side deck sofa, to watch the Damselflies hover over the wild pond, later light the fire pit to enjoy the star filled night sky with friends.
Riverside Deck - Watch the dippers fish, brown trout leap or just listen to the water as it meanders by and over the nearby weir.
Poo Sticks Bridge - The footbridge over the river is a great place to play poo sticks or just watch the occasional Duck or fish pass by.
Riverside Picnic Meadow - Cross the bridge and find a spot for games and to picnic by the river while looking back at the mill gardens.

20-40mins drive turning left out of the Watermill you follow the river to your wales outdoor adventure, passing few other houses before reaching the beautiful scenery of LLandegla forest and its Mountain Bike / Walking centre. Passing over the awe inspiring Horse Shoe Pass you can experience Victorian riverside LLangollen and its Steam railway. Then venture through the spectacular Snowdonia Mountains National Park and on to the Castles and Coast of Conwy, Llandudno and Anglesey.

Additional information
Our Mill Pond, Riverside and Waterwheels are not fenced so small children will need to be supervised in the garden at all times, though it is a fabulous place for a family to explore and play.
Due to multiple levels and steps unfortunately the Watermill is not Wheelchair friendly.
