What you will love about this home
I love my home. It's where I spend most of my time.
It is a character home known as a low-set 'Queenslander' (architectural style) and had a major renovation done in 2021.
I have a traditional 1/4 acre block (1012m2) which contains fruit trees, gardens, a large back deck with bathtub and amazing views.
It is not suitable for young children.
Immersed in nature, friends say they feel replenished after they have stayed here.
Kitchen and dining open up to the outside deck and there is an outdoor bathroom/shower so you can watch the sky.

What you will love about this neighborhood
Living 25kms south from Cairns, in a small town, I am fortunate to live in a tropical paradise in far north Queensland, Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef and rainforest (including the Daintree where cassowaries roam and the upland forests where the tree kangaroos reside) are nearby.
There is a local swimming pool (close by) in the town and the Cairns Esplanade has a fabulous lagoon.
Gordonvale has 2 supermarkets, a post office, a sugar processing mill, golf course, horse racing track with track meets and a town square.
Cottage markets are on the 1st Saturday of every month in the town square.
There is a Great Pyramid Race annually (https://pyramidrace.com.au/) and a Sugar Solstice Fair to mark the beginning of the sugar cane harvesting season (https://www.cairns.qld.gov.au/facilities-sport-leisure/events/council-events/public-event-submissions/gordonvale-sugar-solstice-country-fair)
The Cairns City Council website they have listed many free things to do for all ages (https://www.cairns.qld.gov.au/experience-cairns/events/upcoming-events)
There are multiple tropical islands, waterfalls, crater lakes, caves and gorges.
10 minutes away is Behana Gorge which is great for walking and a swim:

Babinda Boulders:
The ocean provides for those keen on scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing and all water sports except surfing.
If you ever wanted to learn how to scuba dive, this is the place where you can gain international scuba qualifications in 3 days and follow it up with lots of diving options on the Great Barrier Reef.
Port Douglas is a stunning coastal drive north- 1.5 hrs (http://www.visitportdouglasdaintree.com/) and Mission Beach is a stunning drive 1.5 hours drive south of here (https://www.tropicalnorthqueensland.org.au/where-to-go/mission-beach-cassowary-coast/).
To the west is the Great Dividing Range and tableland communities like Yungaburra and Atherton. Another stunning drive through upland rainforest.

This place is hard to beat for an international destination.

Additional information
The weather is ideal for this dry season time of the year...the equivalent of winter in the temperate zones
The sun shines, spreading warmth and the top temperature is usually a consistent 26C maximum and the minimum rarely goes below 10C.
Humidity is at a minimum.
It is dark by about 6.30pm.
The build-up and the 'wet season' starts about October and finishes around the end of April.
This season is not for everyone. It can be a challenge even for the locals. It is like Singapore on a steamy day.
The rainy season is early if it starts about the end of January.
February through to April is usually raining but not always. It can be an intense time or not.
The garden is a lovely place to spend time and there is lots of wildlife which live and visit here due to the tropical climate.
The garden will need some watering and there are lawns to mow with a battery operated mower.
I have 6 chickens and they are set up to be independent (free range in the garden and automated water) for about 5 days, more with a little planning.
Fresh eggs are yours to collect daily.
