Beautiful art-filled 2BR townhouse, in a historic building in downtown Reykjavík. High ceilings and a fully equipped modern kitchen. Two full bedrooms and a bath with a shower, tub and a full loundry. Two private gardens provide the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, a scandi cinnamon bun, or a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Located on the most beautiful street in Reykjsvik (officislly), close to the best bakeries, restaurants and bars. Nearby is the harbour in the west side of town. In walking distance to all the best restaurants and bars, yet nestled on quiet and peaceful street. Live as the locals by enjoying the public swimingpool (Iceland’s public park), equiped with a full spa and a chance to se Björk and many members of parliament.

What you will love about this neighborhood
Our apartment is located in the heart of Reykjavík, a hip downtown spot in “Gamli Vesturbærinn” (old west side). Our small street connects the harbour to the beautiful landmark Landakotskirkja, a majestic catholic church with an adjacent park.
Nearby you will find small corner shops, Melabúðin and Kjötborg, walk s little further and you will find Pétursbúð, a cute family run bodega that’s sure to stock most of your grocery needs. At the bottom of the street you will find a popular restaurant called Forréttabarinn, aptly named for its appetizer-focused menu. On the next street over is Héðinn, a beautiful high end restaurant with a fresh take on modern Icelandic fare. Make sure to check out the best bagels and donuts in town at Deig, or other baked goods at Higge. For dinner and late snacks,?try affordable bites to eat the most cerebrally engaging pub in town, Forréttabarinn.
Close by Tryggvagata, You’ll find the Reykjavik Art Museum, the public library and several srt galleries. Take a right and you’ve arrived at the very center of the downtown area, filled to the brim with shops, restaurants, bars and museums.
If you walk past the church, Landakotskirkja, to the west side you will find a quaint residential area. Located there is our favorite public swimmingpool, where you can bathe with the locals (and usually local celebrities). Swimmingpools are Iceland’s public parks. There you can enjoy the hot tubs, cold plunge and sauna or have a swim. The true Icelandic pastime. Across the street from the pool you will find a trendy café (kaffi vest) and one of Iceland’s famed artisanal bakeries (brauð & co). Walk from there to the beautiful shoreline and black beaches of Ægisíða, where you will spot the locals bathing in the cold ocean. Join them if you sre feeling brave, it’s better than it sounds
