Description

Alan & Jacqui has described his/her home in English.

What you will love about this home

Our home is set on a hill overlooking King George Sound in Albany on the South Coast of Western Australia.
It is a two storey house with excellent views from both floors of ocean, headlands, islands and visiting ships awaiting their turn at the port through in the next bay. There is a good wood stove downstairs and reverse cycle air conditioners both up and downstairs.
The neighbours are friendly and helpful and the street is attractive and quiet.
There is a small shopping centre (with cafe) a few minutes walk away; several cafes, restaurants and wine bars down by beautiful Middleton Beach five minutes drive away; and lots more shops and places to eat in the main town centre ten minutes drive away.
Numerous beautiful beaches can be explored along the nearby coastline and wine can be sampled from the various vineyards close by.

What you will love about this neighborhood

We are within easy reach of all that Albany has to offer and the many spectacular beaches along the south coast of WA.
There are excellent fishing options, whale watching and boat trips to explore along the local coastline and rivers.
Many vineyards and top quality wines, beers, whiskies and gin made or grown in the area offer many choices to sample.
The region's main hospital is a few minutes walk away, behind our house.
We are 50 km from Denmark, a town renowned for its crafts, art, interesting markets and creative owner-built homes. There are a number of national parks nearby with beautiful and unusual wild flowers and native plants.
As printed in National Geographic: "We know there are some 12,500 flowering species in WA, 60 per cent of which are endemic to the state – and 775,000 visitors each year flock to take a gander at these blooms. They’re the quintessential Aussie battlers, digging their roots into WA’s sandy soils and thriving."
