What you will love about this home
Our home is a lovely old 1940s house modernised and extended to a spacious +1400sq ft. Comprising of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a downstairs open living area. The back garden has both a decking area to the front and a large light patio area to the rear, great for relaxing into the long summer evenings. A log burner and gas heater are also supplied to keep the chill away as the night depends. To the front there is off road parking for 2 cars. The house itself is located on a quiet road 1-2mins stroll from the centre if the town.
What you will love about this neighborhood
We live in the beautiful heritage town of Dalkey. A town packed with cafes, artisan shops, a myriad of restaurants, covering lots of different world cuisines. Seafood being a particularly speciality. All types of pubs. From the old traditional Irish pub experience to the modern gastro pubs, most of which are accompanied with picturesque beer gardens. The town is a hub of local activity. There are numerous walks on our door step. Without doubt the most variety of any town in Ireland. From coastline beach and harbour walks (3 local harbours) to parkland and hillside views stretching across the bay our down to the picturesque Co. Wicklow. These can all commence from the village, were we reside. No transport required for these walks. There is a train that can be taken into the city of Dublin for a metropolitan experience. It runs all day every 10-15 mins and takes 30mins to reach city centre. The train is coastal for the first half, offering beautiful views of the sea. If swimming or beaches are your thing, there are 3 nearby (1-5km depending). There are lots of fishing options as well as kayaking and boat trips around the bay. Snorkeling and scuba are also popular. Dalkey offers a truly magnificent experience for tourists. But as well as all these local, walkable options, Dalkey lies at the start of the gateway to Co. Wicklow, the garden of Ireland. Where woodlands, beaches, monastic sites await, and all are a short drive away.
