MORE PHOTOS COMING SOON!
My home is on the shoreline of East Hawaii Island, also known as the "Big Island". Sweeping ocean views, bordered by a park-like area in quiet up-scale neighborhood. The house is the elevated, larger house in the photo. Great ocean view from the lanai (porch) and cool trade winds. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, large combined living room and open kitchen. A large wrap around lanai with a couch and chairs gives you plenty of room to relax. There is open space on three sides of the house.
There is only one "real" bed (Queen size) in the master bedroom. The other bedroom has a large air mattress on a box spring. Children are welcome, but please consider that they will have to sleep on the air mattress and that the house is elevated quite high. There are stairs at the entry of the house, so you will need to be able to climb them.
There is a cottage close to the house that is rented by a very quiet person. She takes care of my cat while I'm gone, but the cat may come visit you. He doesn't like to stay in the house though.
The house is in a neighborhood called "Hawaiian Paradise Park". It is 30 from Hilo and about 20 from Pahoa town. There is also the town of Kea'au about 15 minutes away for shopping. Please note that there isn't a beach in front of the house, this is a cliff area with big waves. Great for viewing waves and whales, but not for getting into the ocean. But you can easily drive to various beaches and other points of interest. The Volcano is about an hour's drive. I'd be happy to give you travel tips for the Big Island and for the other islands if you are going to "island hop".

What you will love about this neighborhood
This is an upscale neighborhood and people are very friendly if you see them on the street. A lot of them are out walking in the morning and evening. My house is adjacent to a large estate property and you can walk/hike there-the trail into the property starts right in front of the house. It takes about 1-2 minutes to walk out to the "rocks" (as we call them) to see the ocean, view whales when they're here and just relax. Perfect place for a quiet retreat, working remotely, and just enjoying the real Hawaii. At the same time, you can easily get to interesting sites, restaurants and bars. Kona, the beachy area of the island, is about 2.5 hrs drive and there are luxury resorts where you can use the beach and visit their acclaimed restaurants.
Additional information
Please do not bring pets as we can't accommodate them. Also be sure you fly into the correct airport (Hilo) or if you fly into Kailua-Kona, that is a 2.5 hour drive. People commonly fly into the wrong airport on this island!
