What you will love about this home
Summer 2025: exchange arranged already.
Guest Points: MINIMUM 2 weeks / 2000 points, thank you !
200 sqm, lots of light, overlooks the city center and the Bergen fjord, great view.
Very central: 10 min walk down to city centre (more on the way back, we are uphill), 20 min walk to Bryggen (Unesco world heritage site), 7 min walk to Fløiban station (“Fjellveien”).
Lots of space outside: 2 terraces, a garden, a small wood next to the house.
Many toys, and kids books in French and Norwegian.
5 bedrooms
1 with bed 180
1 with bed 160
1 with bed 140
1 with bunk beds (2x90)
1 with bed 90
2 bathrooms, 1 is new (2020), the small one is of older standard.
Note:
The house is on a hill so the road is steep when walking from the city centre.
If you don’t fancy the walk up to the house, you can take the fløiban (funicular) or use an electric scooter (available everywhere in the streets)
The house is higher than the street level, there are stairs to get to the house (approx 40 steps).
The house is not for you if you have difficulties (or hate) walking / climbing stairs.

What you will love about this neighborhood
Directly from the house (no car needed) you can go for very nice hikes in the area, from 1 to 8 hours (Fløyen, Stoltzekleiven, Rundemanen, Ulriken, Fjellhytten, ...).
Bergen is the 2nd largest city of Norway but it is actually quite small (you can explore most of it without a car), has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. It is a beautiful city, with many old wooden houses, and it is completely surrounded by 7 mountains and the fjord !
In addition to wandering in the city center, you can
-visit the museums
-go for great hikes in the 7 mountains surrounding Bergen
-bathe in the fjord and the moutain lakes on hot days
-go to swimming pools (the outdoor pool in Nordnes is great, located right next to the fjord, it is well heated but you can also bathe in the fjord there and go to sauna afterwards ; another choice is ADO, a large indoor pool with 2 waterslides, a hot pool, a sauna...). There is also a great outdoor pool in Helleneset.
- the aquarium (sea lions, penguins, ...)
- interesting sites close to the city (stavechurch, Grieg’s house, Ole Bull’s house...)
And of course, Bergen is the perfect startpoint for exploring the fjords and much more (mountain, glaciers, islands, spectacular hikes, cycling trips, summer ski, waterfalls ...)
Many day trips, but I would recommend to also take a few 2-4 day trips if you have time (Hardangerjford, Sognefjord, Nærøyfjord, Folgefonna glacier, Trolltunga, Stavanger, Lysefjord, Preikestolen, Kjerag, Hardangervidda, ...)

Our house is on the sunniest side of Bergen, “Fjellsiden”. It is a residential area, with beautiful wooden houses and great views.
The popular Fjellveien is just below the house.
Just above the house there is a nice playground with trampolines, running tracks, and 2 different trails going to Mount Fløyen and other mountains.

Additional information
-we have a Siberian cat (hypoallergenic race) that we will ask you to take care of.
-stairs to access the house. Approx. 40 steps.
-Car exchange (Touran 7 seats) can be discussed for reciprocal exchanges.
We don’t have a private parking. Our car has a resident parking card but if you come with your own car there will be a cost for parking (no free street parking anywhere in central Bergen).
- Fibre Internet.
- GP exchange: minimum 2000 GPs (It is a lot of work to prepare and clean the house before an exchange, and 2000 is usually what we have to «pay» ourselves for a 1-week exchange in an equivalent place. Thank you for your understanding !)
- Our appartment is the main part of the house, but there are 2 other units in the house. Our neighbours are nice and discrete :)
