What you will love about this home
It is a large, relaxed and comfortable family home set in a beautiful garden with trees and a large swimming pool. We have a large open plan living area and two lounges which are cool in summer and warm in winter with the central enclosed fireplace and underfloor heating if necessary.
The kitchen is well stocked for the home cook with 5 gas burners, two ovens, a built in coffee machine. There is a patio off the sunroom which is shaded under a vine with outdoor seating for 8 and gas barbeque for al fresco meals in the summer.
There is fast and unlimited fibre Wifi and a closed office and two other desk areas to work from in the house. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 en suite) with one double bed, one queen bed and one king size bed. The study can be made into a 4th bedroom with a single bed if necessary (7th person).
It is a lived-in home with all you would want for a lovely relaxing holiday with so much to do right on your doorstep.
There is also a one bedroom self-contained spacious and modern loft with an en suite bedroom, kitchen, lounge with TV and large private patio with jacuzzi which has its own outdoor entrance and is not part of the main house exchange but may be exchanged instead of the main house depending on the size of the home it is exchanged with and/or the availability of the main house - see photos after the graphs (Loft is 130m2 - 165 Guest Points per night).
PLEASE NOTE there is an open swimming pool so no children who cannot swim!

What you will love about this neighborhood
Our home is situated in a quiet and safe, leafy suburb of Somerset West. We are in the Winelands and nestled between the mountains and sea and are part of the greater Cape Town metropole. We are 10 minutes drive from the long white sandy Strand beach on False Bay with its safe swimming and lifeguards and 20 minutes drive from Stellenbosch with its beautiful historical Cape Dutch buildings and lovely cafes. Cape Town will all its many attractions is only 35minutes drive away outside of peak traffic and its international airport is only a 20 minutes drive.
There are many wine estates in close proximity where you can try their award winning wines and eat in their gourmet restaurants. There are also many action activities available in the greater Cape Town area for those who enjoy the thrill. You can also surf, kite surf or dive or take lessons for these water sports and enjoy our ocean while you are here.
We are perfectly situated to explore the greater Cape Town area and being out of the city centre makes day trips much more convenient, by avoiding the city traffic. Here are just some of the many day trips you can take from my home.
1) Drive up the Wild West Coast to the town of Langebaan and the beautiful West Coast National Park on the Langebaan lagoon with its flamingos and great bird watching. Stop in Tableview en route, a northern suburb of Cape Town with its kite surfers and famous view back of Table Mt from the beach.
2) Take the coastal drive along False Bay to Cape Point, passing quaint little towns and the navel base of Simonstown and the penguin breeding colony at Boulders.
3) Visit Hout Bay with its fishing boats and lovely seafood restaurants
4) Drive the Chapman's Peak coastal road with stunning views of the sea and pass the exclusive coastal suburbs of Cape Town including Bantry Bay, Clifton and Landudnou
5) Hike up the nearby Helderberg Nature Reserve and enjoy the stunning view of False Bay or go on many of the other nearby hikes in the area.
6) Take a leisurely catamaran sail from Gordons Bay nearby.
7) Take the beautiful coastal route to Hermanus with its great restaurants and one of the best land based whale viewing sights in the world
8) Go up Sir Lowrys Pass to Elgin and get into orchard country and visit its country market.
9) Visit Franschhoek where the French settlers started their vineyards in South Africa, and now a tourist town with lovely sidewalk cafes and shops.
...and so much more… or just relax at the pool and soak up the African sun. A perfect base for an idyllic holiday!
