What you will love about this home

WE ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO EXCHANGES WITHIN 5 HOUR DRIVING DISTANCE.
GUEST POINT EXCHANGES 4 NIGHT MINIMUM

Secluded home on 7 forested acres with view. Surrounded by woods filled with evergreens, majestic oaks and pines. Sit on the deck, enjoy the view and watch the deer wander by.

Our home and property are well kept and organized. This is a home with lots of windows, so it is light & airy. There is a wood burning stove in the living room along with central heat and air conditioning. Air Conditioning is rarely needed at our elevation.

Large master suite with gas fireplace, top of the line Tempur-Pedic Cal-King bed.

Sorry, our home is not suitable for small children.

Our guest room has recently been converted to a studio; however, our den can be set up with a queen air bed if needed and still offers all the privacy of a separate bedroom.

We take great pride in our home and will treat your home with respect and care

We may consider a car exchange and offer our 2013 Lexus

What you will love about this neighborhood

Our home is located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains in Northern California. We are in a very private setting on 7 acres.

We are within 10 minutes of two historic gold mining towns, Grass Valley and Nevada City. This is a popular tourist destination with charming historic towns, great restaurants, plentiful outdoor activities and varied entertainment.

There are numerous hiking trails, rivers for swimming, white water rafting, fishing, and lakes for fishing, swimming or kayaking nearby. We love our area and highly recommend it. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. Just 10 minutes to visit one of the oldest, deepest, and richest gold mines in California, Empire Mine State Park. there are two beautiful lakes only 20 minutes away, the wild and scenic South Yuba River is about 25 minutes, and there are also dozens and dozens of beautiful hikes to be had.

Because we are in the foothills, we have distinct seasons. Spring and summers are warm and sunny and offer an abundance of outdoor activities, like hiking and swimming in the rivers or lakes, strolling around town visiting the shops, wineries & restaurants, or enjoying a variety of special events that take place in the area. Fall is pleasant with mild sunny weather normally well into November. Winter is filled with many sunny days in the 40's and 50's but we also get occasional snow (6" or so that melts off in a day or two). We are about 1- 1 1/2 hours from world class snow skiing.
This is a good area in Northern California to use as a home base to visit other areas of the northern state;
Here a some highlights and drive times of locations to visit in Northern California:
1. Downieville and Sierra City - mountain biking and hiking and charming town (1 hour) Nice scenic drive
2. Lake Tahoe - Beautiful, must see! Winter skiing, summer boating, great hiking, river rafting and other outdoors activities
3. Auburn - Historic Gold Town (30 minute drive) nice area with fun old town, hiking, whitewater rafting
4. Sacramento - State Capital & airport (1 hour) great bike trail along the river and lazy summertime rafting or kayaking. Old town and more.
5. Napa/Sonoma - wine country (2 hours)
6. San Francisco - (2 1/2 hours)
7. Santa Cruz - beach and boardwalk (3 1/2 hours)
8. Yosemite National Park (4 hours) - worth taking a couple days for a side trip!

We are happy to help you plan your trip and itinerary. We are both local natives and we have explored and enjoyed all of the area. We also leave you lots of information on the local area.
