Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa

My home is located 3 U-Bahn stops from the famous Alexanderplatz. It is in a quiet street, but has excellent public transportation connection, making it ideal for sight-seeing. It is on the top floor of a modern building, overlooks a quiet park, and has a great view of the TV tower and the gorgeous summer sunsets. While my building is modern, it overlooks some excellent socialist architecture.

The apartment has a big, bright cozy living room, a bedroom, separate kitchen and bathroom. All rooms have big windows and have a lot of light - but there are no other buildings facing the windows, so there is a lot of privacy.
The bedroom has a big double bad and the living room has a sofa that can also be turned into a double bed, so it suits 1-4 people comfortably. I had several friends sleep on the couch, and I had whole families visiting.

The living room has the sofa, a TV with Chromecast (but no TV service atm), a comfy armchair, a folding table that can be turned into a big dining table, or just folded away if you need the space. Right next to the balcony there is a workstation with an external monitor and a very good IKEA office chair. And of course it has my bookshelf with lots of books on arts and movies, literature in English and in Hungarian.

The bedroom has a huge double bed, a vanity with 3 mirrors and its own lights, and light-blocking curtains.
The bathroom is somewhat simpler, but spacious, clean and bright as well.

I am not a plant-person, and most of the furniture is IKEA, but so far all of my guests described my apartment as very cosy and overall a good feeling to be in. Because it is right under the roof, it has high ceilings, and yet it somehow feels like a nest, lovingly hugging you as you sit in it.

There is a big balcony, with balcony furniture available if you want to enjoy the sunsets outside. Smoking is allowed on the balcony.

Lo que te va a encantar del barrio

The apartment is in the once poor and artsy, now hipster Friedrischain area, 1 minute from the next U-Bahn stop (but is sheltered from the big road), and about 10-15 minutes walk from the lively Warschauer strasse/Boxhagner Platz area, which has a regular farmers market, a Flea market, and several stores for designer clothes, vintage stuff and old records. There is a wide selection of restaurants there, and possibly the best bagels within 1000kms. There are also just regular supermarkets, Rossman etc available close by. Also for those that are interested in Berlins techno culture: my apartment is walking distance from Berghain.

The public transportation connection of the apartment is excellent, the U5 line goes to Alexanderplatz, the Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), and the Brandenburg Gate. It crosses several other metro lines, and in general most of inner Berlin is reachable in less than 30 minutes, so it is perfect for exploring all the museums and sites in the city.

There are parks nearby (some smaller, some bigger) if you just want to lie in the grass for a bit. There is a playground next to the building.

¿Algo más que añadir?

What I really love about Berlin is that all the neighbourhoods are very diverse. Just beyond the corner there is a big and broad road, aptly named Karl-Marx Allee, that is often used in films as a stand-in for Moscow. But then a few blocks in, there are small streets covered with cobble-stones, big trees offering shade and people having afternoon drinks sitting on beer-boxes, while kids are running around. I think this stands for all of Berlin, that even in the most bustling areas, the primary past-time is to just chill.

Berlin is a biking town, and it is a lot of fun exploring it on 2 wheels. I can't offer to use my own bike, but I am happy to let you use my bike renting membership, that allows taking up to 4 bikes a time and only costs a few euros. (There are several car and bike sharing options available if you want to use your own account).
