Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa

This is our holiday home on the western side of Lake Taupo, NZ's largest lake. We love sitting on the deck,having a BBQ surrounded by forest, listening to the birdsong of New Zealand's special native birds, including tui, kereru and piwakawaka. The house is two stories, with an external staircase. It's a cosy wooden cottage upstairs with the living area/kitchen, 2 bedrooms, laundry and bathroom. In winter we light our wood fire, listen to records or play a DVD, or use the wifi connection, internet-connected smartTV/Chromecast. We often work remotely here as we have fibre-connected broadband. Downstairs, on the ground floor is another 2 bedrooms and 2nd bathroom, at the back of the garage. In summer, it's a short walk down to the lake for swimming and kayaking (kayaks provided). All year round, there are also forest walks within Pukawa Bay and in the surrounding area.

Pukawa is a small, quiet lakeside community. The main 'nightlife' is looking at spectacular stars in clear skies! Our favourite restaurant is a 10 min walk or 2 minutes' drive away at Oreti Resort. A small shop for basic provisions, coffee and baking is 20 minutes' forest walk or 5 minutes' drive away at Omori. Floating Rock Cafe in Kuratau is 10 minutes' drive away and does a range of pizzas dine in or out. 10kms drive away are hot pools at Tokaanu. 15 kms away is the small shopping center of Turangi; which sits on the Tongariro River; renowned for Trout fishing. The Hare and Copper on Grace Road,Turangi is another good restaurant. The tourist center of Taupo town is an hour's drive away which has a full range of shopping and services. 50 minutes' drive away is the UN World Heritage site of Tongariro National Park for winter skiing and summer forest walking or more ambitious climbing. There're lots more outdoor activities in the area including white water rafting, lake cruises, guided fishing, mountain biking and famous walks like the Tongariro Crossing, sometimes referred to as the 'best one-day walk in the world'.
